  1. When did we hire Farrell back?
  2. I state facts. Fact is the bullpen outside of closer was not addressed. The same starting staff (minus Sale in 16) is 1 6 in playoff games. Sox add Martinez without mentioning other Teams have added equal or greater depth. Yankees Angels Astro's Guardians Twins and Mariners all have equal or far better talent. It comes down to Starting Pitching, your 8th inning set up and Closer during a playoff run. The Redsox have done nothing to address the latter outside of Closer. Far more greater concern is the lack of Scouting Drafting and Development of Pitching within the Organization. Dombrowski's first move should have been to revamp the Minor League development system but he didn't. Baird, Crockett and a host of other evaluators should have been replaced much like Epstein did in 03-04 in Boston then again in Chicago. Boston is a Playoff Contender not a Championship Contender as constructed at the moment But that is ok. Some fans and Posters like a playoff contender
  3. Hard to justify Tampa and Miami as legit major league lineups Outside of Kimbrel the BP is a train wreck Starting pitching will be suspect with a lefty dominate staff not to mention the injury history of Price Rodriquez and Pomeranz I keep it in perspective the pink hats do not !
  4. Truth hurts doesn’t it?
  5. Hembree 8IP 8H 5ER Reed 8IP 1ER 9K Priceless
  6. Blackmon received 21 million the next 3 yrs for twice the production. Ramirez with a .750 OPS the last 3 yrs does not warrant a vesting option no matter what the Stats say this summer. I like Ramirez as a person while in Boston but the bottom line is his tenure here in Boston has been a bust. If Ramirez is hitting for power come the deadline you attempt to move him to a contending team before the vesting option becomes an issue if you can? Harper is the big fish next winter as is Donaldson (unless he drops off a cliff) to play 3B moving Devers to 1B with Moreland as your defensive replacement. This Team will be payroll strapped even further if Ramirez is allowed to vest..
  7. Mop up Duty 11 of 14 IP were with a 4 run or more lead
  8. The great Joe Kelly in 2017 while pitching the 7th and 8th innings a total of 36 IP. The player allowed 15 ER and 18 BB To all those who say those statistics in the late innings is acceptable is priceless!
  9. Kelly should have been released, cut, non tendered or whatever anyone wants to call it. I will agree Cora should have pulled him earlier. Again, Kelly should not be on this Roster. That my friend is the fault of the GM
  10. These are the facts and the facts are undisputed! Kelly Barnes Hembree average WHIP last 3 seasons 1.5 = 5million total payroll (Kelly 3.8). Gregerson despite a down year in 17, 0.9WHIP, 2 year deal 11 million. Reed 3 yr WHIP average 0.99 signs for a difference of +3.5 million? I understand Relievers are inconsistent from year to year but the 3 stooges in Boston have been a train wreck. That is not the fault of Cora, its the fault of DD not addressing the BP needs. Where Cora is at Fault today is not his bullpen moves, its what Pitcher he decided to use minus Kimbrell and CSmith who I will give a pass to today only. Cora needs to find his identity as a Manager. His own Identity! If Pitchers that were not used today get shelled then so be it. Walden Maddux Poyner? Don't be afraid to use them. Lets try to find a diamond in the rough or make the GM go out and make a move for better talent than what we have seen the last few years with the stiffs DD has put in uniform.
  11. 86 and that is a gift
  12. Any news regarding Thornburg?
  13. Your forgetting a very important question. Does JD like to play on Sunday nights?
  14. Your a gambling man lol
  15. You can thank Cherington for the 4 to 6 mill left ! Your paying for all three stiffs who now have you Cap strapped in Rick, Pablo and Hanley
  16. Since all reports point to the fifth rotation spot being vacant, Cobb would be an ideal #5 starter for this Club. The fascination of BJohnson with this organization is mind boggling..
  17. Your right. Value probably is low. Every time he throws it just doesn't seem like he has #1 or #2 stuff as they say. I go back to 04 07 13. Dominate starting pitching. Pitchers who were work horses in Pedro Schill Beckett Lester Lackey. At the moment Boston does not have a horse. We all thought Sale was that guy and Price in 16 but all flamed out in the Post season... Maybe Cora will work magic with the staff but I still say ERod is over valued...
  18. Id take Price over Gray any day of the week. I just think Boston has not done enough far as Rotation and Bullpen depth
  19. I disagree. Inconsistent at best
  20. You deal ERod who is injury prone and has shown no sign of being a dominate Starting pitcher. All the hype surrounds ERod because the Sox traded one of the best Relievers in the game to get him. Cobb or Arrieta or perhaps a future trade to bring in a RH Starter..
  21. Price had an arm injury last season, correct? You had reports of the injury being a ligament tear. Any pitch thrown by Kelly Barnes at any time is cause for concern
