Scouting report on Espinoza was he could hit 96 with movement. There are a ton of those guys. Its about control see Joe Kelly. The problem with Pomeranz is, he was and is a two pitch pitcher, fastball and curve. You get into the playoffs as we saw last year vs elite lineups you cannot compete thus 2IP 4ER and you lose. Outside of Shaw for an injured Reliever this deal is right up there in the Bust category. Deal him for a low level prospect and salvage something from the mistake.

How about that critical Free Agent in Price? What Starting Pitching Depth? Johnson Wright Hector from the Mexican League? Outside of Sale there is no other power arm that can win you a Series let alone a Playoff game. Once again the inability of this Organization to develop Pitching is mind boggling but i guess that is to be expected when you hire a video Coordinator from Toronto to become the Assistant Director of Minor League Player Development. Priceless! Last years first round pick in MLB Draft was and is to be projected as a Reliever with a pitching motion that is said to put a strain on his arm in THouck. Result 44IP 34 W. Highest Payroll in Baseball with a suspect starting staff and your calling me an idiot? You need a legit RH Starter to supplement Sale Price ERod. You could say Porcello is that Pitcher but he also gives you the most trade value at the moment to restock the farm and clear payroll for a chance at an Elite starting pitcher in next years free agent class. Pomeranz can be moved. Contending Teams looking for a #4 or 5 should net a low level prospect to essentially replace Espinoza. Lefty dominate rotation and Porcello's HR's allowed isn't going to beat NY in a series let alone Houston or Anaheim.

Issues with the rotation are very simple, they are not good enough to win a title and regardless of what happens in Houston these are the facts. Attempt to trade Porcello and Pomeranz this deadline to free up cash for next seasons bonanza! Dombrowski is delusional if he thinks this Staff can win a Series let alone make it to playoffs

Relievers are a dime a dozen. Bailey had 1 good year at age 25 then the K Rate declined big time. There was a reason Beane let him go, he knew time was running out to get max value. Reddick in the minors was a player who generated extra base hits 40 plus percent of the time he reached base, which the Scouts will tell you translates to gap power at any level, more times than not. Bust trade then and it would be a bust trade now to deal JBJ for anything less for a Verlander type arm or a JDMartinez type hitter. See CSmith. This is why its critical to develop your own Relievers in the ML System. It's to much of a risk to trade any prospect of value for a relief pitcher. So far Kimbrel has been the real deal but as we see the HR's allowed are starting to climb this season. -

Dombrowski missed the boat on Verlander and Cole. Will he make the same mistake this deadline? Make the call on Odorizzi Hamels (depending on vesting option?) Fullmer, Harvey, Wheeler, Ross and maybe the great Kershaw. Tax strapped is a beautiful thing ain't it my friends

As good as Cherington was he was equally as bad see 2013 Draft. At #7 the best player on the board per all scouts was AMeadows and he chose Ball? Priceless. Anyone check Meadows stats recently?

Your a Power Pitcher short in the rotation. Just imagine if this Team was not tax strapped and you added Verlander last season. The Team would be the clear cut favorite in the AL with Verlander this year. Thanks Ben
