Let me clarify the ERod trade chip comment. You are correct ERod for a reliever would be just as ridiculous as trading JBJ for the same. I believe ERod can get you a significant piece or pieces since his upside is still high from what I have read. Far as Boston is concerned I would sell high because of the past injury history and let’s not forget the career 4.5 ERA to date. Again, with the 19 free agent class of arms you could improve now by dealing this player and upgrade significantly in 19

Why is it so hard for a select few to recognize this Team is not Championship caliber? The roster as constructed was not good enough the past 2 playoffs but yet the same players return and fans talk about a different result. There is zero pitching after Sale and zero relief before Kimbrel. The Organization is Tax strapped at the moment to find any pitching help. It boggles my mind how Ownership says in 14 that signing players to big contracts at the age of 30 is not good business. Lester Lackey Miller all gone and Ramirez Sandoval Price are signed. Another tongue twister is what Cherington was thinking when he signed Ramirez. You had to know of the 2019 Free Agent Class but yet gives Ramirez a vesting option for that year? Another Highly Rated prospect manhandled by the current Minor League Developmental system. The Minor League Operations and Scouting Department need a complete overhaul. All Management has done is move the pieces around by re-assigning or promoting different scouts to other positions. Its a complete disaster from top to bottom especially the Pitching Development....

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, for the money your paying the diva u could have gone after Cueto and the Shark back in 16. Cueto far better pitcher and the Shark although not an elite arm but has been durable and Both RHP. Factor that in with Sale Pomeranz and Eddy R, far better starting 5 than what u have now!

The entire Minor League Developmental System needs to be rebuilt. Baird and Crockett must go. Fresh faces are needed to revamp the scouting department much like Epstein did back in 03. Not being able to develop pitching has been the downfall. Result over pay, over trade as we have seen in this “win now”market.

Since when do the stars align? Starting Pitching will be the downfall of Dombrowski and Ownership. ERod is inconsistent as they come and injury prone. Pomeranz will not survive with only two pitches which limits your advantage as a Pitcher. Price does not have the mental makeup to pitch in Boston and at the moment is the first "big money bust" free agent under the DD watch. Bullpen outside of Kimbrel is inconsistent but I don't blame DD here. I blame DD for not re-vamping the Minor League Development system by ridding themselves of Baird and Crockett who have yet to produce any pitching, starting or relieving of substance. DD missed the boat last year by not acquiring Verlander. Again, thanks to prior Free Agent bust acquisitions in Sandoval Ramirez Rusney by another GM the Organization was taxed out of acquiring an elite Pitcher. When the Yanks make a push in next years free agent pool for Star players, You know where DD will be?
