    Price can opt out after 18 I believe? I don't see him staying in Boston unless he gets injured. Kelly Bust, trade or release Porcello trade if throwing well now or at the deadline Kimbrell is a coin flip relievers can fall pretty fast.. Over the luxury tax for Harper Kershaw or whomever? Absolutely !

    DD should be setting this Organization up for a run at the big Free agent Class of 18-19. Harper Brantley Machado Donaldson Blackmon Kershaw Harvey Keuchel and the list goes on... Im not opposed to signing a fringe type Hitter but the more you here about some of these proposed deals for the talent level this season, it might be a good idea to wait it out.... Your handcuffed with Ramirez at the moment especially with the vesting option. If Im DD there is no way Ramirez reaches the Kicker on AB's to kick in the option. Not a chance. Perfect scenario, find a hungry team to take the contract on even if you kick in a prospect see NYY....

    Ask yourself that ? A few years into the deal when the power numbers decline and your paying 30 million for a DH after giving up a front line player or Groome. A Stanton deal has the 80’s and early 90’s Yankees feel to it. Spend spend spend and lose lose lose. These young Sox players might benefit with a new Hitting Coach whose approach is said to be driving the ball out of the park.. Buy a free agent !

    LOL You are more than likely correct. The Sox need to get back to the style of team building that won them rings in all 3 world series appearances. Dirt dog players! Just say no to Stanton. The deal more than likely will be similar to a Pujols deal at the end and that really will handcuff a team. Ridiculous thought in any conversation. Hosmer, Santana talk is encouraging.

    Past management is to blame for the luxury tax implications or lack of payroll flexibility. Ramirez Sandoval Craig Castillo Porcello. Prospects are developed to trade for big league talent. At the moment no prospect traded by DD has become AJudge. First order of business for DD is to rid himself of the Coaching Staff to include Farrell. 16 ER in 11 innings from your starting staff in a playoff series is unacceptable. Not to mention the similar numbers from the starters in 16 vs Cleveland. Much work to do but first, the Manager must go or DD must go as well..

    Farrell isn't the problem. One could conclude that he also is not the answer. 15 17 vs AL playoff teams minus the twins. Last week of the season you end at 2 5. 13 was magical, 16 was a blessing, 17 your paying for past players who have handcuffed your ability to add the missing piece at the deadline. The missing piece was or could have been Bruce and or Verlander this season. If Farrell returns in 18 so be it. In the end, its up to Dombrowski to construct this roster with a veteran swagger that won this Organization the title in 13

    The Sox being aggressive on the bases has to be a result of the lack of power and the overall inconsistency of the Offense.. They are still ranked last in most every pertinent offense category of all the current playoff Teams. Sale back to earth does not play well for any playoff matchup. Add Ramirez being Sandoval the last month is a recipe for another quick exit.

    Cleveland Win streak. 14 games won 98 runs scored. Here is the kicker. 4 shut-outs, 6 other games 2 runs or less, Team ERA 1.6 Moral of my story, Yes it is baseball, I just don't see Boston home field advantage or not, defeating Cleveland at any point in the Play-offs. I believe we should root for Cleveland to catch Houston for the #1 seed. At least in a 7 game series there is more room for error... If I was Management I would preserve Sale at all cost. Rest him this weekend vs Tampa, perhaps another skip in the rotation in a few weeks and get him right.. For the love of Jesus, lets pray Fister stays hot!

    As of today, Boston ranked 26th in SLGPCT. Ranked 23rd in total bases. Ranked 24th Grounding into DP's and ranked 28th leaving runners on base which is not good.. I understand some of these stats are mis-leading but it is what it is. The problem is combination of several young players either not being Coached correctly and or not being mentally prepared to adjust or play on a daily basis. Then again, who really knows. Another september slide and a quick exit in the playoffs Dombrowksi has to start churning over this roster and eliminating the deadweight to include the coaching staff.. It aint over, but with the Sale struggles of late and the zero production from Ramirez your in trouble

    Your right. Brentz last year was terrible in Boston. Zero bat speed. I read this past offseason he had fully recovered from shooting himself in the leg from back in 15 or there abouts.... CYoung in this lineup is dreadful. I don't get it.
