  1. Take off your pink hat for a moment and answer this ? truthfully with why or why not. "If you could trade Porcello at the deadline to clear a portion of the 18 salary and clear 21 million in 19 payroll for a chance to sign (or obtain another Starter by trade) Kershaw (opt out) Bumgardner (opt out) Kuechel Corbin or GGonzalez would you do it" ? Sale Price ERod as your playoff rotation with cash for the 19 Bonanza.
  2. David Price Post Season 73 IP 73 H 42 ER allowed. This clown was pulled from the playoff rotation in Toronto and DD gives him 30 million with no club options, ridiculous! How can you not factor those stats into a Pitchers contract or extension? It's bad business and the Organization is paying for it now
  3. LOL! Okay, so in your world guys like Lester Beckett Lackey and Schilling's post season numbers should not factor at all in a future contract or extension? Just hand out 22 million to porcello and in Price's case 30 million to regular season stats only. This is why your Tax strapped. Foolish contracts. Priceless
  4. You are correct. 2006 WS he was not good and again in the 12 ALCS. Overall body of work has been pretty good with 11 wins and a 3 ERA. Ask yourself this ? Would you want Verlander starting Game 2 or Porcello? Porcello had a career 4.7 ERA when traded for. Inconsistent at best. Cy Young Award means nothing. Overall numbers headed by very poor post season numbers does not warrant 22 million a season. Trade this player while the numbers look good and set your payroll up for 19.
  5. Not to mention his post season career in Boston. 7.1 IP 11 H 7ER 3BB Priceless!
  6. What does 12 months apart or 1 start have to do with it? The numbers don't lie
  7. Do your homework first
  8. Post season Stats do not lie. See Pedro Schilling Lester Beckett and Lackey. Result 3 Rings with Pitchers who you know can get the job done in a pressure packed Series. Its all about Power Pitching. Far as Wheeler goes its his first season back after TJ. Look at the numbers pre-surgery. Power Arm and Yes you are correct no playoff experience but I'll take my chances if the deal is right. Plenty to deal, I'd start with Vazquez since NY has zero C and several arms in the ML's from Mata to beeks
  9. I'll say it again and the facts are undisputed. Minus Wright add DP, Sox Starters above in the last 2 Post seasons = 16.2 IP 23 ER, 3 inning per start average. Numbers do not lie, end of discussion. Seriously, do you want a knuckleballer and 2 long relief pitchers backing up the starters or making a playoff start? Porcello has gave it up both post season years. Price "look up the post season numbers again" and a very inconsistent ERod who averages 100 pitches and less than 5IP an outing. I'll give Sale a pass due to over throwing. Put the pink hats down and the pom poms, the 7 dollar hotdogs, 10 dollar cup of booze (not to mention the insane parking fee) and recognize the Red Sox need help in the Rotation. Now Reports have it Yanks after a SP as well. Reports off Rotoworld have Mets taking calls. Make a call on ZWheeler and other power arms who become available.
  10. You must have been drinking some of that Colorado Kool-Aid my friend? Hell, even my post are not that delusional. How many times are you going to ask for or watch Boston possibly not re-sign Players who can perform under this Fan and Media scrutiny. Do you remember Lester Lackey, Ellsbury, Damon, Pedro and lets add Beltre to the mix. You PAY Players who can perform here. Now, Im definitely on the Harper train and his contract alone should be bought and paid for by extended ticket sales merchandise and TV ratings but my god, YOU don't trade or possibly not re-sign your own All-Stars
  11. Not Thursday night which continues the question of needing a power arm
  12. Bullpen help on the way in Durbin Feltman.
  13. Scouting report on Espinoza was he could hit 96 with movement. There are a ton of those guys. Its about control see Joe Kelly. The problem with Pomeranz is, he was and is a two pitch pitcher, fastball and curve. You get into the playoffs as we saw last year vs elite lineups you cannot compete thus 2IP 4ER and you lose. Outside of Shaw for an injured Reliever this deal is right up there in the Bust category. Deal him for a low level prospect and salvage something from the mistake.
  14. How about that critical Free Agent in Price? What Starting Pitching Depth? Johnson Wright Hector from the Mexican League? Outside of Sale there is no other power arm that can win you a Series let alone a Playoff game. Once again the inability of this Organization to develop Pitching is mind boggling but i guess that is to be expected when you hire a video Coordinator from Toronto to become the Assistant Director of Minor League Player Development. Priceless! Last years first round pick in MLB Draft was and is to be projected as a Reliever with a pitching motion that is said to put a strain on his arm in THouck. Result 44IP 34 W. Thanks Ben...........Crockett that is.
  15. Highest Payroll in Baseball with a suspect starting staff and your calling me an idiot? You need a legit RH Starter to supplement Sale Price ERod. You could say Porcello is that Pitcher but he also gives you the most trade value at the moment to restock the farm and clear payroll for a chance at an Elite starting pitcher in next years free agent class. Pomeranz can be moved. Contending Teams looking for a #4 or 5 should net a low level prospect to essentially replace Espinoza. Lefty dominate rotation and Porcello's HR's allowed isn't going to beat NY in a series let alone Houston or Anaheim.
  16. Good win DD needs to find depth via trade. This Team needs help, plenty of chips to trade
  17. U don’t want to face springer
  18. Would Swihart get you Lowrie out of Oakland ? Seems Beane always liked the castoffs
  19. Kimbrel 5 hr’s allowed
  20. There’s the Joe Kelly we all love
  21. Look what happens when You throw that slider, hey Joe
  22. No Holt for Defense at 2b?
  23. Perfect example why Hembree sux. 2 out walk to a .200 hitter to face Springer
  24. Issues with the rotation are very simple, they are not good enough to win a title and regardless of what happens in Houston these are the facts. Attempt to trade Porcello and Pomeranz this deadline to free up cash for next seasons bonanza! Dombrowski is delusional if he thinks this Staff can win a Series let alone make it to playoffs
  25. The blind squirrel just found a nut
