  1. Thank God Bello is going tomorrow.
  2. Nick P just sucks. Oh I forgot. He is a very good #5 starter. Sox with 4 of them.
  3. Nick P looking again like #5 starter. Only problem is we have 4 of them.
  4. Especially true if we can't improve on last year's record vs AL East.
  5. I'm leaning more and more that way.
  6. As usual, I have no facts to back it up. I could have sworn I heard it once on a Ray's broadcast.
  7. I also read Rays use young starters in the pen early in their major league careers. They wait for their turn. Haven't we done this with Whitlock and Houck? Why not Bello? Now all of the sudden, it's in Bello's best interest to pitch in the minors? It's getting to the point Bloom and Cora's words doesn't mean anything. Didn't Cora say there's no way Paxton would not be a starter? Things that make you go huh.
  8. Well said.....
  9. My argument is not Bello starting or not. My argument is keeping Bello in AAA just as an emergency starter, to be available if a major league starter gets hurt. It has nothing to do with his performance apparently and Cora said so as much. What logic is that? We are going to keep one of our 13 best pitchers on the farm? This is NOT the Rays team. We are in last place. And to think we have the LUXURY of keeping one of our top 13 pitchers RIGHT NOW on the farm? So Bello is going to PAY THE PRICE because our current starters are bunch of pussies? I'd fire our baseball people. I'm just getting tired of missteps. I'll say the same to Moon. It's idiotic to keep him 'stretched' IN CASE OF AN INJURY to someone else. We already have Kutter in that role.
  10. Very good sir.
  11. I do want to see Bello as a starter BUT I'm okay with Bello taking similar route as Whitlock. That is, he can join Winckowski and Kutter as multiple inning guys, going as many as 3 or 4 innings. If Bloom is indeed committed to Sale, Kluber and Paxton, there's no room for Bello. It's about helping the big league team. I really don't see him getting any better going up against AAA competition. And I believe he's better option than Brasier and Ort. AND BELLO HAS SAID AS MUCH. HE THINKS HE BELONGS IN FENWAY. I AGREE. It would be different had he had normal spring training work load and then pitched poorly. But he didn't get the normal workload. But despite that the team decided he was ready to pitch in the majors. Quit being freakin' cowards. Make a decision and stick to it and not tether every other day. Grow a pair, Bloom.
  12. Definite Starters for Now (thinking like Bloom) 1 Sale 2 Kluber On the wings, only if Cora can't come up with the five 1 Paxton, probably will start in the pen, maybe the first option to join the 'five' when he completes the rehab assignments. Will be a starter as long as he doesn't 'blow it' 1 G. Whitlock Will be a starter as long as he's beaten out performance wise by 5 other pitchers 1 N Pivetta Will be a starter as long as he's perceived to be less than Bell and Paxton, performance wise 1 Houck Will be a starter if Houck falters and moves to the pen 1 Bello It's a puzzle......or a cluster f***
  13. Is it time to say good bye to Ort?
  14. Thanks as always Moon.
  15. With one of the largest contracts given out, it's no brainer and nothing wrong with hoping Sale would give the Sox SOMETHING. It remains to be seen how much he has left in his tank. Whether his early struggles are rust coming off of 3 years of no activity or if it's a permanent decline remains to be seen. I am also curious about how Kluber finished out last year. What did Bloom see that we haven't seen from Kluber thus far? I'm also not expecting much from Paxton if he does return. I'm just excited that Houck has developed additional arsenal to become a starter, Bello is evolving and developing (unfortunate that he had a setback during spring training), Whitlock hopefully will come around from the hip injury he sustained last year and Pivetta will continue to give us the innings and every fifth start. I've not given up on Kutter also as a starter. He looks like a better option than Kluber at this point. We're still ahead of last year's pace in April. It doesn't feel like we're in last place.
  16. Devers contract also doesn't kick in until 2024 so really has no place in this year's finances. The problem is BECAUSE we threw money at Kluber we are now obligated to give him 10 starts at minimum. You don't think Bello doesn't watch Kluber and thinks to himself I am better ?
  17. You are correct. This is why we get a Kluber.
  18. This was on Sale. Couldn't protect 4-0 lead. I've had enough of our veteran pitchers. Rather lose with our young guys.
  19. Arroyo's confidence is shot.
  20. So we keep making the same mistake?
  21. What is f***ing magical about having a struggling pitcher give up a 4 run lead just so he can go 5 innings? Cora doesn't think that we're going to WASTE Winckowski's arm in a losing cause? f*** Cora.
  22. Sale's got nothing. At some point, he's going to run out of excuses. Next time he says I sucked, everyone's going to agree and say YEP.
  23. I think Kutter is available so Sale just needs to complete 5.
  24. It was all about not wasting a pitching spot for 5 days sitting on the bench vs having a reliever over the next few games.
  25. Bello has been sent down and a lefty reliever called up. No point in having a starter sit on the bench and not be available. Houck has made the cut. No way Sox was going to give up on Kluber. Bloom would ather lose the season than admit he is wromg about Kluber. Lets hope Kluber gets it together or we will lose every fifth day.
