  1. My recollection was 2019 rotation went to hell. The payroll was still up there in 2019.
  2. And just 3 ER given up. Maybe he should be starting instead of Pivetta. Anyone here get excited when it's Pivetta's turn to pitch?
  3. Our 3 outfield positions, LF, CF and RF are ranked 3rd, 1st and 2nd amongst AL East teams. (OPS) To show dominance of the Rays, they are ranked 1st position wise (OPS) at 1B, SS, DH, 2nd at 2B, LF and RF. That's 6 out of 9 positions 1st or 2nd in the entire American League. Unreal.
  4. Exactly correct. Bloom should have looked to add a rotation starter at the top. This is why I'm not convinced we were all in for 2023. Unless of course Sale has more left in his tank and his good games so far are the floor.
  5. We still don't have any idea how Sale will perform this year. I'm not sure if we can overcome bad season out of Sale.
  6. I guess things even out. Casas disappoinment is overshadowed by Duran's hot bat and improved defense.
  7. Ok let me clarify what I meant to say. In light of Wong development as a catcher, trading Vaz to Houston and receiving Valdez now looks good. Especially since Vaz got a $30M deal with the Twins. With Wong, we got younger, more athletic and 6 years of team control. Bellhorn got it.
  8. Thanks....you understand me.
  9. Cora was right about E Valdez. The kid can flat out hit. He is not intimidated. With developing Wong, Sox made a good trade with the Astros. I am glad that we don't have 3 yr $30M burden on our books.
  10. Core Group C. Wong 1B Casas 2B Story SS TBD (Mayer 2025?) 3B Devers LF Yoshida CF Dura LF Verdugo (assuming. e xtended) DH TBD Based on team control..add and subtract as needed We are approximately $15M under cap. That will cover Devers raise. Barnes' $5M will go away. Kike's $10M goes away this year. We need a top line pitcher. Our pen can be strengthened further by using couple of our starters not in top 5.
  11. Yep. We are not far off John Henry needs to open his wallet and sign an ace, not Kluber clones.
  12. When Story comes back, we'll have every position covered with exception of SS and DH long term. (Assuming we extend Verdugo).
  13. Only 1B appears to be our major weakness right now. I am ready to add Duran and Wong to our 'core' group.
  14. Focus should be on fixing our own house. Bello and Sale's starts are certainly encouraging.
  15. Is he the same guy that threw the ball away to allow Cleveland to tie the game?
  16. I'm sorry. But with 2 balls and no strike on Verdugo with Yoshida coming up, no brainer to walk him to set up a double play.
  17. My response was to Duval coming back.
  18. Need to find at bats for Duran.
  19. Devers!!! Bargain at $17.5M.
  20. Devers!!! Bargain at $17.5M.
  21. Yoshida's OPS is up to .828!
  22. Bello is our future.....i have seen enough of Pivetta's of world.
  23. 0 run 1st inning....that's new
  24. Bello had a good stretch last year. I'm not sure if it's fair to judge his 2023 season after 2 starts with abbreviated spring training. I have more faith in Bello than in Casas.
  25. Ever notice our Yankee fan is not here when his team is struggling? And he is the first one to come with the news when our player is hurt. Judge was out last night with hip injury suffered in Thursday's game. Maybe nothing serious. Cordero is back to AAA.
