You do bring up a good point. Pay for mediocrity and mediocrity is what you get. And this is where Bloom SHOULD SHINE but he hasn't. Tampa Bay North Rays would have NEVER signed Kike for $10M. NEVER. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS. Quit treating $10M as a chump change. They all add up. I will throw up if Cora brings him back. Spend the money elsewhere.

Getting Rodriguez and now Crawford (Friday?) will help the pen. Same goes for the return of Whitlock, possibly 2 rehab starts from returning to the parent club. That will push someone else to the pen, if not him. I then wait for Duvall, Story and or Mondesi. Who knows when Arroyo will return. I'm tired of him.

Tampa Bay North would 1) trade Pivetta at deadline 2) trade Verdugo at deadline Both have 1 1/2 years of team control left. They would bring up Abreau and play him in left field They would go with Sale, Paxton, Bello, Kluber and one of Houck/Whitlock as starters.

As much as I like Whitlock, his starting stats have been underwhelming. Just don't send down Bello.

I thought Brasier was his favorite. Ort his second favorite. Also Kike can do no wrong in Cora's eyes. $10M utility player.

Sale Paxton Bello looks solid. Yeah I know... I'm not sure we can win 2 out of 5 with Kluber and Pivette. Yikes.

Ok I am now convinced Houck should go to the pen. If it turns out Whitlock is also suited for pen I will be bummed.

I agree with you Bloom. My only question is will Kluber hinder the team further by starting? Is there something wrong with him physically? Will 10 day IL make him pitch better? Are we fair to him by keeping him in a non-starter role? Obviously we did the right thing with Brasier. But I hope he does get picked up and do better than what he did for the Sox this year. I don't ever HATE any baseball player. I just don't want some on our team when they are not performing well. I saw that we are shopping Dalbec. I just feel bad that he couldn't make it work in Boston. He has all the good qualities, except his OPS isn't good enough. I also wish him well if he gets traded.

I love this. My exact sentiments. We don't have to give up on the season. Bello has to pitch. Houck has to pitch. Whitlock has to pitch. PS. Pivetta should be in the trade talks. He's in his arbitration 2 year. He will be attractive to even the cellar dwellers if we pick up bulk of his money. Moon and others keep talking about his 'value' as #5 starter. Just look at his stats from June 1, 2022 forward. Yeah I'm skipping last May because that was not normal as it turns out. Are we seriously going to EXTEND HIM? Probably not so you trade him with one and a half year of team control left. Say you trade him to the Athletics paying all of his salary, surely you can get something in return, maybe a young bullpen arm. That's Tampa Rays way....didn't Bloom learn anything?

Is there anyone here that thinks Kluber can get out of his funk? All we ask as fans is that we put out our best 26 on the roster. I'm not sure if we have it. Rodriguez is set to be activated, giving us 3 lefties out of the pen. Bernardino becomes the next prime candidate to be sent down. He has options left for a later call up in case of bullpen injuries. When Kutter returns on the heels of Whitlock return, how can the Sox keep a straight face not getting rid of Kluber? I want the best 26. I rather Sox admit to mistake and move forward. Kluber means absolutely NOTHING to the Sox future. He was merely a rental. And not a good one, Mr. Bloom.

I don't want to dwell on this but When the entire board can see the train wreck coming in one Ryan Brasier but no one at Sox sees it, there is a problem. We are just bunch of juvenile want a be GM's.
