  1. Moncada named futures game MVP Let see now. Conversation about Benintendi is happening because Young, Swihart, then Holt got injured. Moncada is #1 rated player. But it's the fault of the fans that no one in the organization has entertained the thought of playing Moncada elsewhere? If Pedey goes down everyone here would be talking about Moncada, irregardless of wheather he's ready or not. Some of you need to get off of your high horse. Maybe you should go start another forum where everyone thinks just like you. Geez..
  2. And I want you to be right...and me wrong. I'm also good with Clay B making a 180 and shove it up my ass with good second half performance.
  3. Hell, it took him over 110 pitches to shut them out...why doesn't he pitch to contact and save his arm?
  4. Tampa is 17 games back......what can we get for Swihart?
  5. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZiegler......ok, just had to do it....I liked the second pitcher for Tampa....he's better than Buch...just saying
  6. Ziegler ....you are the man.
  7. Amazing thing about Guyer is he doesn't even flich...
  8. Porcello at least throws strikes......I hate Dice K approach....which Clay B has copied....
  9. I just can't see Koji going through Orioles or Blue Jays anymore....I hope we move away from him and Tazawa when season comes an end. Sometimes you have to know when to move on.....
  10. Owens just can't throw strikes......he's really in a bad way.... 58 walks in 83 inning in the minors this year.... I want all these guys to succeed....but
  11. Price is pitching high....he's going to get hit today..
  12. Was Xander 100% ready? As DD said, each kid is different. We all know that....hell you all have kids and grand kids. If we selected a kid with lack of mental fortitude to withstand slumps and up and downs of professional career, then we did a horrible job of evaluating this kid. Not every kid is Clay Buchholtz.
  13. I agree with your point but we are down to basically 3 starters. I think we are DESPERATE. Someone on the staff must think E Rod can be salvaged with a quick fix.
  14. If you mean giving up 4 runs in 5 innings keeping us in the game, then ok. I APPLAUD SOX FO.....THEY ARE MOVING WITH SENSE OF URGENCY...You have to pay close attention to what DD says....He doesn't believe there's anyone out there at a reasonable asking price that PROJECTS out to have higher ceiling than E Rod. SOX wants to find out right away if there's any chance E ROD can be salvaged for balance of 2016. Same goes for Buchy. IF IT FAILS, they will go sign HILL. DD thinks we can win this thing. He's looking under every rock for help. He's a no non-sense old school guy with a style. It's time Buchy take off his panties and put a big boy boxers.
  15. Been critical of Ben C but Porcello extension is working out. The kid doesn't walk anyone and works at a good pace. Clay B, take note. That's how professionals do it.
  16. He has looked good. We need for Kelly to come in and do a decent job. I'm not sold on Tazawa and Koji needs more rest in between appearances. Ziegler may end up being the closer. We're two games up on Houston for the wildcard. Not time to panic.
  17. And this: Article from Providence Journal "These are nice moves that have allowed Dombrowski to cross off two of the three needs that populated his July shopping list. He declared his bullpen "pretty well set" after the addition of Ziegler — even accounting for the loss of Craig Kimbrel for three to six weeks due to a meniscus tear in his left knee. He prefers his handful of internal options for left field — which include the injured Chris Young and Blake Swihart along with Brock Holt and prospect Andrew Benintendi — over the external ones, shooting down the idea of improving the team's offense there via trade." It sure doesn't sound like a pipe dream for Benintendi to reach Fenway if everyone keeps getting hurt. "Reading between the lines, it would be a surprise if Dombrowski were willing to move Benintendi or Yoan Moncada — the team's top prospects and the closest ones to making a major-league impact. Dombrowski mentioned Saturday his long-standing willingness to skip Triple-A with his best prospects, and Benintendi seems like a consideration for left field as soon as this season." For those of you that think he needs AAA experience.....nope

  19. I wish Ecks would quit making fun of Rays. They maybe 3-22 now but 2 of those came vs the Sox. Great job by Porcello today. Kudos to both Xander and Pedey for clutch hits. Game tomorrow should be a laugher but man Price makes me nervous. It seems he has no margin for error.
  20. For the poster that thinks Shaw should not be platooned.....your words were "....no f...ing way". He went 0-3 today. He's now 15/74, .203. I like Shaw but don't you have to play the percentages, no? It's not like he's a Gold glove defender. Luckily, there are more right handed pitchers so he will get his at bats. And the fact that DD specifically mentioned his struggles against left handers should count for something. We gave up a decent AAA pitcher to help solve that problem. That says it all.
  21. Stay away from Teheran....he's overvalued.....we just need someone that can give us 6 innings...3 runs...ERA 4.50
  22. You've knocked off about $40M in payroll before having to pay new acquisitions.
  23. better start for Porcello....he gave up 4 runs in 1st last time out...IMPROVEMENT
  24. In light of Kimbrel injury, it's a great move that we got Ziegler. We can't keep all the prospects. Especially those in Class A.
