  1. Wikipedia already has Tibbs as an American baseball player in Red Sox organization. Lol
  2. Shades of Tampa Bay Rays, with more money? I do think Duran is on the trading block. San Diego? Hell we can unload all of our star players to NL West. We'll only have to face one team in the World Series.
  3. I meant Bregman is not playing right now so yeah, when he gets back he'll take over for Devers. As an example, now that Devers is gone, Narvarez can DH like today, a day game after a night game. Maybe Yoshida comes into play. I think Devers boxed himself in when he refused to play any other position. I was really hoping he get traded to Pittsburgh or Detroit. But this trade didn't cost us any young talent.
  4. Few thoughts. Devers has set bad example for our young players. He sits by himself. Compare that to Bregman. Our rookies look up to Bregman, not Devers. San Francisco is well under cap space even without getting relief of Hicks' salaries. Hicks is NOT our main target. It's Harrison. He is under team control for five years, including this year. The high A OF prospect is going to take time to make his journey to the MLB, if he even makes it. This trade may allow more at bats for Refsnyder. A guy like Gonzalez and Toro can also get at bats. Bregman I think will easily cover for Devers bat. We want to see our young guys play, or at least stay up in the majors. My guess is when Anthony was promoted, it was with the thought that he's up in majors to stay. No way in hell he was going back down to AAA. I repeat, I like that the organization is really prioritizing pitching. You need good pitching staff to win the World Series. We'll scratch enough runs. We always do. We're just about #2 in every offensive category behind the Yankees. Pitching, pitching, pitching.
  5. I like the idea of this organization really zeroing in on pitching. It frees up to keep all of our young players at the major league level.
  6. I think it was Bres's preference not to have full time DH.
  7. We will move up 1 spot. Seattle vs Cleveland later . Both 1 game above .500. We will pass one of them.
  8. Needed a shut down inning. Thought about Chapman with lefties.
  9. Throw in another ace we look like a real contender with Bregman returning. I'd like to extend Chapman. A 2 year deal.
  10. Having a 2nd ace is the winning ticket to the World Series. We are fortunate the Cole got hurt.
  11. At some point lefthandedness must be addressed in OF. Even Duran struggles vs lefties.
  12. Wong is completely lost at the plate. Its all in his head now.
  13. Some of you make too big a deal about the competition coming up. It really doesn't matter. Red Sox can play well against good teams and poorly versus bad teams. We are the fifth best team with a record 18-20 against >.500 teams in the American League. But right now we're seed #9 in the playoff chase. Two of the current six playoff bound teams have losing records versus >.500 team. The Twins in the sixth spot has a 14-20 vs >.500 teams and the Rays lead the league with 22-14 versus >.500 teams. Maybe we should do better against bad teams and along with not being dominant at home, each game is an adventure for us. Good thing is that we can compete and beat the Yankees but on the flip side we can also play poorly against the White Sox and lose. I don't care who we play. Just go win the series and we'll get there at the end.

  15. I know it's too early but when Bregman comes back, I rather see Mayer play 2B than Campbell. Obviously Mayer I think would be better defender than Campbell who can play in the outfield. I would also live with Anthony. He'll have a hot streak and raise his OPS say in a week. For now, C-Narvaez, 1B-Toro, 2B-Mayer, SS-Story, 3B-Bregman, LF-Duran, CF-Rafaela, RF-Anthony, DH-Devers. Then you'll have Refs, Gonzalez, Campbell/Hamilton if Campbell revers to May numbers. This lineup should work. I also would hate to give up on Abreu, because I do think Refsnyder is close to retiring. Just my opinion. I think he wants get into coaching.
  16. Well, I say if you throw enough mud onto the wall, eventually it will stick. Injuries, injuries, injuries...
