  1. Pomeranz has yet to get past six innings this season, having gone four, three and four innings, respectively, in his last three outings. Since joining the Red Sox, he has gotten an out in the seventh inning just twicw in 21 starts. He's a long reliever that comes in to start the game.
  2. We play at Fenway 81 games a year. We also visit other AL East parks where balls typically go beyond the OF grass. It's stupid to build a team on singles hitters. That's what we have. That's why I'm not married to any of our pending FA in 2019/2020. Hell trade the Benitendi's of the world. Sign premium starting pitchers and power hitters. Then fill in the bus with Pedeys of the world. Keep Devers only because of his power potential. I'd go get Q for Swihart, Beni and Groomes. If that's not good enough for White Sox, then we know that Sox fans are delusional about our young talent. We overvalued them. And let's not forget that baseball has to be entertaining. Watching Chris Sale pitch is a treat. Many of us set our schedule around his schedule (don't lie, you do it). Two years ago during a dismal Sox season, I never missed E Rod starts. He was ray of hope. He was fun to watch. He's having a decent year. Pomeranz? He's the exact opposite of Chris Sale. I'm beginning to hate his starts. And he's not even our #5 pitcher, he's our #4. You hope for the best, but you end up disappointed.........I need a pick me up, I need Devers.
  3. Well Pom went 4 innings today while throwing 96 pitches. He will need to get his stamina up to around 150 pitches so he can go 6 innings.
  4. We're content playing at 3B a guy with WORST OPS in the minors. Not near the bottom, but the WORST. Not in the majors, but in a minor league. WORST. We are thereby playing the NL rule in the American League. Meanwhile we have a kid in AA with OPS above .900. Be patient? Let me repeat as I did last year. How can you look at Sale and tell him I gave my best to give you the best line up possible by playing the guy with the worst OPS? Don't you have a fiduciary responsibility to do your best? If Devers fails this trip, he fails. Do you honestly think that a kid who has played baseball at a high level all his life will all the sudden go into a life ending baseball funk? You're an idiot.
  5. Get rid of f***ing Pomeranz. Non athletic, a pathetic excuse for a baseball player. f***er has no intention of getting to 6th inning. I can't stand watching a f***ing pussy on the field.
  6. What do we have to lose by giving Devers a shot? Even if it goes well, some here will ultimately claim Sox DID NOT get Devers BEST 6+ years (age 20-26). If we wait couple of more years, then Sox will get his age 22-28 years, presumably a better version of Devers. ********. Sox need him sooner rather than later because the Sox made a colossal error by signing Sandoval to $95M, 5 year deal. Moreland is a one year rental, keeping the seat warm for someone else, be it Sam Travis or another player. I only bring this up with the thought of platooning Sadoval and Travis in the future. It's time. This team needs another shot in the arm. YOU CAN'T HAVE THE WORST OPS GUY IN AAA playing in the majors. And if you can accept that, it begs the question why not Devers? He can't do any worse, can he?
  7. We don't talk about positives here. It's Boston Red Sox afterall. Please don't pour a ray of sunshine into perpetual rain cloud hanging over Fenway.
  8. Pomeranz says he's fine now. Thanks for wasting our bullpen after giving us 3 innings. With each outing, he's beginning to behave more and more like my third wife, totally high maintenance. If he has a good year, lets trade him and be done with it.
  9. We need to get rid Brock Holt. Hell he's hurt all the time. I have migraine thinking about his issues. And we are suppose to get excited about HIS return? Good grief. How low have we sunk.
  10. I moved to US when I was 12 years old from Japan in June of 1967. I've always been a baseball fan. Not knowing one word of English, I spent the summer watching baseball games on TV on Saturdays. I could have been a Cardinals fan just as easily but I think the nick name Red Sox won me over. My favorite Sox will always be Rico Petrocelli. Living in Indianapolis, I catch quite a bit of grief because of the hatred for the Patriots. (but there are many Celtics fans because of Larry Bird) I don't go into details. I just tell people I'm a Red Sox fan. My original team was Yomiuri Giants (known as Tokyo Giants). They used to be the 'national' team. I think close to 80% of the country rooted for the Giants.
  11. Not having Price has really hurt. Porcello is way off from last year. I hate to think where we would be without Sale.
  12. This team is pathetic. Good thing we traded for Sale.
  13. Before today's game, Pom is averaging slightly over 5 IP and 95 pitches. He's becoming irritating to watch.
  14. Have we hit against decent pitching?
  15. Great news......now Pom is injured. Are these guys that injury prone?
  16. Do we skip Pom if it rains out today? Monday is day off (presumably no need for our #5). Go directly back to E Rod, Porcello and Sale? Why not? I'd skip every chance I get our #4/#5.
  17. Did Chris Sale know that he was going to play with bunch of pussies this year? This team is full of time share players. PLAY, SHOW UP, DON'T PLAY, I'LL SKIP BECAUSE MY PINKIE HURTS, MY SHOULDER IS NOT 100%,,,PLAY FOR WEEK, TAKE NEXT WEEK OFF, .....JESUS. THEY ARE BUNCH OF POODLES.
  18. Moon, what do you think of Michael Chavis? He's had recent power surge. Any chance he will push Devers to 1B if Travis doesn't show enough power? Ultimately I'd like to see power hitters in corner positions. Beni and Betts have enough power. Moreland is adequate for now.
  19. Things to ponder..... What if Kelly had progressed and followed many of young St Louis pitchers and had become lights out starter for the Red Sox? What if A Craig had recovered fully from his injury plagued St. Louis season before the trade happened? What if Castillo had followed the similar first year success of Jose Abreau? What if Pablo had continued his limited success from the Giants to the Sox? What if Carson Smith had continued his success from his previous year before the trade? What if Moncada tore up the covers last September and it was Devers that was traded for Sale? What if Thornburg is pitching the way he did last year? What if I was worth millions and dating.........Yep I know, wishful thinking.
  20. I also think we need to look at Castillo signing in the context of just a year before, we lost out on Jose Abreau to the White Sox. I believe we were just below what was offered. I got the feeling that we were NOT going to be outbid for Castillo. It just hasn't worked out.
  21. Signed Andre Beltran.....he was a perfect fit in Fenway. Hard ass, good defender, always a threat offensively
  22. Looking at September schedule We conclude by traveling to Cincy for 3, return home for 3 vs Blue Jays and 4 vs Houston. We only play Yankees and Orioles 3 times each, but on the road. We have six games versus the Rays and Blue Jays. We face the Yankees first in September so we may have to depend on others to keep them in check as season winds down. I think this is pretty favorable. Hopefully we'll still be thick of things. AND EVERYONE IS HEALTHY, including Price, Thornburg and Smith.
  23. Wasn't there a fourth player involved in Sale trade. A pitcher.
  24. Can we trade for some pitching help RIGHT NOW so we have some depth for 2019? Red Sox blueprint......trade for a pitcher, get him a mandatory Tommy John surgery, place him on a 14 month rehab schedule, add another 3 months for Sox only shoulder strengthening regiment backfiring. And make sure he's under team control for 3 years so we can get one year of production. T it up, son.
