  1. Will she get reimbursed for dry cleaning or new outfit?
  2. He threw 85 Freakin' Strikes out of 109 pitches.
  3. Johnson is really looking good. Good command of his pitches. You wonder how HE gets swing and misses but Kelly throwing 100 mph can't.
  4. He did run through the stop sign. But watching the replay, WHY DOES THE 3B coach come down the line and wave his arm frantically signaling to run for the 3B runner. I've seen it before. It's confusing. 3b coach should simply focus on the runner on 2B. Not an excuse but ....................... There was an article recently about running and Pedroia was rated the worst on the Sox.
  5. I'm with Moon on this. 1) I have no doubt he's a great guy. And baseball and health are two different issures. HE NEEDS TO QUIT PLAYING COMPLETELY UNTIL HE'S FULLY RECOVERED. I read that he's still going to take BP, infield, etc. Just not play competitively. I believe that's ********. He needs to get better. You can't f*** around with head injury. I don't think anyone wants Holt to be suffering. Just get him well. Jesus, he's still a young kid. His long term health is more important than anything else. The lights, the noise during games, none of that can be good for his recovery. 2) I just think he's a mediocre player. Just because he can play 1B doesn't mean I want him as Sox 1B. Sam Travis is better. Just because he can play OF doesn't mean I want him in OF. He's not the 2nd option, long term at any position. Geez I like the guy. We are strictly talking about baseball talent.
  6. Not sure how he will get 'better'. Obviously if Pom can pitch the way he did the other day that will ease the pain of having to pitch Price. I wonder if will require a surgery with one slight injury.
  7. We need for E Rod to step up this year. As I've mentioned before, this year corresponds to Lester's breakout year he had as a young Sox hurler. As with most young pitchers, it's all about control and locating his pitches for E Rod. Then we can wait patiently on Groome to arrive around 2020 Here's my post from April 7th...I'm limited to 5 articles per month or something on bostonglobe.....it sucks.
  8. E Rod is having a break out year, comparable time period to that of one John Lester.
  9. I endorse this 100%.....
  10. Is this the Beni and the Betts gang you speak of?
  11. JBJ is worth more to the Sox than to anyone else right now. We can't get in return what we are giving up. We have a very good outfield group. Why create a hole? I don't see Chris Young as a every day starter. Our defense is much better with the trio of Betts, JBJ and Beni. (And we have 3 more years of team control for JBJ) Maybe you address it at some point but not now. Our three biggest concerns are Pom/Price, return of Carson Smith/Thornburg, and Panda.
  12. give Pom credit....he's not walking guys. Solo HR doesn't hurt as much. He had tendency to get ahead 0-2 then go to 3-2. Lot of pitches. He's being more efficient. Much better command tonight.
  13. Price and Pomeranz are our bigger issues.....can we just give bunch of cash to the White Sox for Q?
  14. I believe everyone has a sore thumb.....
  15. Geez....you missed my point completely. I said IF our catchers were our worst hitters then we are in good shape. I'm not comparing our catchers to other catchers. Don't you have HIGHER expectation from both Bradley Jr and Panda?
  16. Basically we need Bradley and Panda to start hitting. That will lengthen our lineup. WHEN AND IF OUR CATCHERS BECOME OUR WORST OFFENSIVE POSITION, WE'LL BE FINE. I think Panda has until the All Star break to prove if he can be a regular at 3B. We will move on after that....
  17. Okay, then why reveal it now then if it's such a big 'secret'?
  18. Why is it that we're now hearing about the thumb injury to Xander? I get it that he doesn't want to make excuses but I think it's a critical piece of information as to why he's not hitting home runs. Maybe I'm just out of loop. My feeling changed 180 degrees. A hurt thumb is a major pain in the ass for hitters. Also, I'm guessing Bannister is all over Pomeranz' inability to throw a cutter this year. He's only thrown it 20 times. He can't survive as a starter just with two pitches. Pom can't be stupid. At some point, he'll need to throw a third pitch to be effective. He's repeating what E Rod was doing first half of last year. You can't be a starter with just 2 pitches.
  19. JF needs to do what he did last night. I realize it's a long season but JF bringing in Moreland and then Rutledge were the right moves. I don't think managers manage with sense of urgency. Yeah it's early, but every win is a win. I thought JF seized the moment and did what he had to do. He made a comment about having more positional depth for last night's game, but that begs the question why wasn't Travis brought up sooner? Only thing Travis is is a professional hitter. That's all he does. Not a great glove, not a great athlete but he can hit. Red Sox need help with their offense right now. That's why I'm not oppose to bringing up Devers. Let's see what we got. Hell, he may surprise us all. HE CAN'T DO MUCH WORSE THAN DEVIN MARRERO. If my $5M job depended on it, I'd turn every rock and see what we got.
  20. I don't care what we gave up for Sale..........it's a must see TV.
  21. This goes with YOUR idea of if you're going big, you go BIG. Pomeranz does not have the ceiling of say E Rod. Trade had to been made and I will not fault DD for it. BUT, perehaps there was a better trade out there. I'm concerned with our staff's ability to acquire 'healthy' players.
  22. Basically we have invested $40M per annually on 2 positions to have 11th/15th in OPS at DH and 3B. Yikes.
  23. What's the hold up on Home Runs? If its all about weather won't the other teams also hit more, thus negating our incremental increase? If we can get Q without giving up Devers, I do it. Starting pitching has a great deal of impact on winning games. I am giving up on Pomeranz. He has the ability to strike guys out but opposing hitters seem to foul off several pitches when he's on the mound. He goes deep into count. He's just not very efficient.
  24. I don't think 'the clubhouse' thinks much of Pomeranz.
  25. Ding, ding, ding....we have a winner. You do everything you can to seize the moment. I will say it again. TO HAVE THE MINOR LEAGUE'S WORST OPS GUY PLAYING 3B while you have a guy with over .900 OPS is f***ING ASININE. Especially with this pussy of a line up. Why not ask Sale who he would rather have playing 3B? Yeah, Kimmi and her gang will jump in and proclaim players can't make decisions for the organization. I get it. But just as I applauded DD's moves last year (not the results) for not WASTING terrific years from Ortiz, Betts and Porcello, something needs to be done this year. Sitting on your ass day after day expecting different result is not formula for success. Do something. Ship has taken water.
