  1. I bet the leadoff hitter for Sox has more information on opposing starter than notin's daughter.
  2. Random Stats Average on base per game (H, BB, IBB, HBP) 12 per game Record with 12 or more on base 28-3 Record with less than 12 on base 13-24 I have no idea what the hell this means.....Maybe it just says our pitching has been pretty good.
  3. It'll be interesting to see if Chavis will get some at bats. Dalbec had two hits last night so that was good.
  4. I don't have any issues with Kike playing. Just leading off but that's not his fault. It's not like he went to Cora and said I only want to bat leadoff.
  5. Boston Red Sox prospect Brayan Bello’s fastball has reached triple-digits and his changeup plays with ‘really good arm speed,’ late fade It's subscriber based so I won't post it. A 22 year old Dominican Republic native. He began the season as #24 prospect, now up to #9. Throws plus changeup and also a slider. Signed as 5-10, 150 lbs, now up to 6-1 and 170 lbs. Promoted to Double A from High A during 2021.
  6. Crawford’s return from Tommy John Kutter Crawford, a 25-year-old righty, has a 3.54 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and .200 batting average against in five start for Double-A Portland as he returns this season from Tommy John surgery. He has allowed either 0 runs or 1 run in four of his five starts. He has four walks and 25 strikeouts in 20 ⅓ innings (1.8 walks per nine innings, 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings). Red Sox pitching prospect Josh Winckowski said he’s impressed with how Crawford approaches the game and his calmness on the mound. “His mechanics, I love watching him pitch, specifically his lower half. That’s kind of something I’ve been taking note of,” Winckowski said. “He controls the game really well and he mixes his pitches really good. I’ve heard after Tommy John he’s kind of like transformed his body and gotten into way better shape. So it’s been really exciting to see him do well this year. I think he’s got really good stuff and he knows how to use it.” The righty throws a fastball, changeup, curveball and cutter. Like Chris Sale, he is a Florida Gulf Coast University alum. He was a 16th-round pick in 2017 — but he’s not pitching like the 491st overall pick. He has a 3.38 ERA in 52 minor league starts. Per MassLive.....Great name for a pitcher.... “The hitters, it feels like they generally don’t have a shot,” Winckowski said. “Generally, it feels like a few things have to go wrong for Kutter to give up some runs.
  7. Had we signed Betts to 10 YR $400M deal, we would not be having this discussion about the leadoff hitter.
  8. If that's true, then JD who is probably our best hitter would be batting second. I think this is a topic that can never be resolved. Cora is a very good manager and I wouldn't trade him for another. I think I'm more frustrated with his explanation more than anything else. I rather him tell a reporter, I'm the manager and this is my lineup. Furck off.
  9. I don't get where Cora thinks Verdugo would not hit as well leading off. I bet you $100 that he's lead off more than any other #2 hitter in the league due to our #1 1)not getting on base in 1st inning 2)making the third out. He is essentially leading off. How can we be anymore top heavy? If anything % of Verdugo getting up for 5th time will definitely increase. It certainly won't go down. Mathematically what he says is BS.
  10. Good Analysis. I don't think you have the $15-$16M for David Price. I have sign and trade for both Richards and Perez. That will offset David Price money. I'm also going over the tax line significantly for 2022 for adding the second 'ace' type. We've always agreed that in order to strengthen starting rotation is to get #1 type and slot everyone else one spot below. I'm assuming Sale is coming back to his old self. I'm assuming CF, 1B and 2B will be filled internally. I'm clearing out everyone so we can have 2 #1 types. We clear out some of the money issue for 2023 when Price money goes away, Eovaldi's $17M is gone and replaced internally and JD's $22M is gone and replaced internally. Some of that money can be used to extend Devers, Xander and pay for further arbitration increases. I'm counting on Bloom to acquire and develop talent for internal replacements. That's what he does well. We'll always be competitive with healthy Sale, Verlander and Syndergaard. That's a group I'd go to war with.
  11. Typing was required class in my high school. I think I typed 34 words a minute or something. I think I got a C in class.
  12. I will pass emphatically on a guy batting .104 with OPS of .460. We're in a pennant race.
  13. I'll address 2022 in my next post. My post was about 2022. Instead of going from 0 baseline, I like to start with current year numbers and then add and subtract. This way I don't miss much. In addition to Price ($16M) and Eovaldi ($17M), JD ($22M) and possibly Xander ($20M) will come off the books at the end of 2022. That's $72M total.
  14. Yep, for sure. But we've not given up any young players in the process. Our farm is intact and we should get something in return for couple of the players. I'm good with 'buying' players. It's just money.
  15. This is a crazy discussion for Moon. We're at $205,466.167 luxury tax payroll wise, about $4.5M below the threashhold. Here's a scenario. Beni ($2.8M), Pedey ($13.75M), Ottavino ($7.15M), Richards ($10M), E Rod (8.3M), Perez ($5M), Barnes ($4.5M), Renfroe ($3.1M), Andriese ($1.85M) and Kike ($3M, Sox eat $4M). That totals $60.6M coming off the books. Richards and Perez are sign and trade candidates. With $4.5 under cap, our payroll can be $149.4M for 2022, starting point. Sign both Verlander and Syndergaard, for whatever money, work a deal to bring their luxury tax payroll to $25M each. Sign both Barnes and Ottavino, $15M and $8M. Arbitration raises of another $15M. That brings the total starting point at $237.4M. Price and Eovaldi money comes off at end of 2022. saving of another $33M. Starting Rotation Sale, Verlander, Syndergaard, Eovaldi, Whitlock, Houck, Seabold Bullpen Barnes, Ottavino, Sawamura, Taylor, Darwinzon, Whitlock, Houck, Seabold, couple of more young guns Position Players 1-Duran CF 2-Verdugo RF 3 JD DH 4 Xander SS 5 Devers 3B 6 Arroyo 2B 7 Chavis LF 7 8 Dalbec 1B 9 Vaz C I'd go with that lineup for the playoff chase....
  16. Sox are doing well. Rays are just unbelievable at the moment. It's hard for me to think they will keep up their recent pace. That said.... "We lead the league in runs scored average, don't worry about it" "Our top group will continue with their OPS" Most people knew it wouldn't last. We're good hitting team but there are better hitting teams. We can't expect four players to carry us the entire year. What's amazing is we've been able to win some close games where we've really not hit well. We will go on the road where we've done pretty well. We don't dominate at home for sure. We're still not out of winning the division. Overall, the team has played well.
  17. 76 pitches after 6 innings....that's all you need to know.
  18. In six losses in June, 5-1, 7-1, 6-1, 4-3, 5-2 and 6-4......Hits-Runs.
  19. Kike puts up some bad at bats. I don't have the stats in front of me but I don't see many hard contacts.
  20. Last 3 games, 8, 5, 6 hits. Luckily we scored 6 runs on 8 hits.
  21. I still think we'll see improvement out of E Rod. He's not quite himself yet.
  22. All extra innings start with runner on second and no outs. Sox also starts the home games behind at least 0-2 and with one out when they come to bat.
  23. Stephen Gonsalves was a one-time top prospect, but injuries and control issues resulted in him jumping from team to team. It’s great to see his strikeout rate back above 30%, but it’s come with only a 13.6% SwStk%, and a ton of walks. That 18.1% walk rate is absurd and likely means he won’t see the Majors anytime soon unless he improves that control....Per Fangraph G IP W L S ERA H R ER HR BB K G/F WHIP AVG OPS 2021 Wor 6 29.1 2 1 0 3.38 18 11 11 4 23 44 0.86 1.40 0.178 0.673 Summation: Needs to be able to stay healthy and limit the walks. Profiles as emergency rotation depth with a back-of-the-rotation ceiling. Well, maybe we need that "emergency rotation depth".
  24. He's Baaaaack! As the Red Sox transaction wheel turns, the club has designated Ryan Weber for assignment and recalled Michael Chavis Per Sox Prospects. I wonder if he'll lead off. Moon this opens up a spot on the 40 man roster. Who could be added? Indeed. Who?
  25. Without any evidence, he accuses the ENTIRE rotation of cheating. I would never give him an interview again. Unbelievable.
