Ken Giles? A recent Over the Mountain podcast mentioned Giles, who is expected to come off Seattle's IL, as a potential Red Sox trade target. Seattle has designated for assignment reliever Drew Steckenrider, who has a 2.63 ERA and 16 saves since the start of the 2021 season.

Dang. Garrett Whitlock was scheduled to start the Sunday game that I will attend with a friend who has Whitlock on his fantasy team. My pedestrian fantasy team has the Seattle starter in all three weekend games against the Red Sox.

To be fair: Garrett Whitlock has made 53 professional starts and in December 2020 was left exposed in the Rule 5 draft. Most teams would be thrilled to land an "average starter" in the Rule 5 draft. -
