That's a question for ZiPS. FWIW Paul Konerko had an OPS+ of 121 through his age 36 season -- including OPS+ of 160, 141 and 130 in his age 34, 35 and 36 seasons -- before the decline set in with an OPS+ of 77 over his age 37 and 38 seasons.

In 2015-17 Steven Souza Jr. posted 6.1 fWAR in three seasons with a Tampa Bay Ray club that had Chaim Bloom as vice president for baseball operations. Thank goodness BTV does not run the Seattle Mariners. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

According to Roster Resource, the current No. 5 starter for the Seattle Mariners is 23-year-old righthander Matt Brash, who has never pitched above Double A where he made only 10 appearances. Baseball America ranks Brash No. 45 on its Top 100 prospect list. The Mariners have the financial flexibility and/or prospect assets to swing a deal for another starter.
