As a a defensively limited player with a career OPS+ of 98, Eduardo Nunez posted an OPS+ of 99 in 76 games with the San Francisco Giants last year before posting an OPS+ of 129 in 38 games with the Red Sox. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/n/nunezed02.shtml I expect Nunez, who turns 31 years old in June, to produce near his career norms. Depending on his contract, Nunez could be a wise pickup.

Slow down.:) Jose Abreu is a far better mentor to fellow Cuban Yoan Moncada than Hanley Ramirez (not to mention $9 million cheaper, three years younger, with more years of team control unless the dreaded option vests, and more productive with 9.1 to 0.6 fWAR over the last three seasons).

I was going to attend the 40-year reunion of the 1969 Seattle Pilots -- made famous in Jim Bouton's classic book Ball Four -- but I broke my wrist in a bicycle mishap the morning of that afternoon gathering in August 2009. That evening I barely made it to the Mariner game where the Pilots were honored.

I suspect the net migration between Seattle and Boston suggests the typical Seattle resident does not envy the typical Bostonian. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5229083/Moving-study-People-continuing-west.html I like Boston, a world-class city, even though I've been there only three times in my 62 years on this celestial sphere. I survived 100 degree temperatures there in 1973 as a 17-year-old hitchhiker from Iowa. I did not return until 2010 when a friend and I made Fenway Park the first stop on our eight-day tour of six MLB stadiums on the East Coast. My final trip came in 2016 when my younger daughter competed in the Head of the Charles regatta. Again, Boston is a fine city. But I don't envy the people living there.
