  1. Injuries. If healthy he’s very good…
  2. No, but then he never was…
  3. Like anyone commenting about “finishing behind the Orioles” as if they were still the 52-110 team from 2021. Yes, the Sox (along with 14 other teams) did finish behind the Orioles. But then the Orioles also missed the postseason by only 3 games, were the best team in the AL East in the second half, and were only 4 games off the pace of the NL pennant winner. They were a good team, and while we certainly don’t want to finish behind them, this fact gets represented like it’s the hallmark of failure despite the fact the the Orioles had the best record of any AL team not in the postseason…
  4. I don’t mind Taylor, but Anderson (OPS+ 97 the past 3 years) isn’t Bradley (OPS+ 61 last 3 years), is a better hitter. Injuries are his bigger issue…
  5. Anderson was non-tendered by Miami…
  6. Yes. If only you understood that statement…
  7. Hal isn’t a baseball-oriented as Papa was. He seems to like the money…
  8. Know what would be even weirder? If they were competitive after that….
  9. That was probably Old Red. He thinks anyone who can play multiple positions should be benched…
  10. What if - perish the thought - the eye still in the playoff hunt right before the deadline? Do they hold Devers and prioritize the current season? Or trade him and hope things work out in the future?
  11. Drury wouldn’t be a bad depth option. He’s basically Dalbec but with fewer strikeouts. Not wild about Conforto, especially as a RF at Fenway. But he is one of those guys who rarely went undrafted in fantasy leagues. Greatly prefer Brian Anderson for RF at Fenway. Andrus would be nice for defense or Profar for offense to fill up the MI. Also screw Chafin. Fulmer is the guy you want…
  12. Really didn’t want Swanson. After not wanting Story last off-season, I would have really detested that signing. (Although Story was a mildly pleasant surprise.)
  13. As I have said before, the season rests on Sale and Paxton. Not exactly the safest place to be…
  14. 1 year wouldn’t have been bad…
  15. Technically the Dodgers lost Gallo. Also you list Cordero as added by the Orioles but not lost by the Red Sox. And take out the MiLB players. Every team has those…
  16. There is absolutely more treading water than we realize. But those other teams did start treading a lot closer to shore…
  17. So the Notin list is on to Andrus, Anderson and then maybe? AJ Pollock?
  18. I do think the bulk of “in on” stories are clickbait…
  19. Yes the range absolutely helps. Swanson also throws about 79mph but he also lead MLB in Outs Above Average…
  20. I don’t think any agent has been expecting as much money as they’ve been getting from any team. Matt Strahm for example, was ok but certainly nothing special. He did get one year older. Also, he tripled in value. How, exactly?
  21. The last 20 of which are but one blemish away from being completely devoid of titles…
  22. Why do we assume half full is a good thing? It’s very situational. I mean, if you’re holding a half a cup of blood, isn’t half-empty the preferable option? No idea how that chain of thought hit me this morning…
  23. Did they really try to get Dominic Smith? Or was that just more clickbait?
  24. What makes you think I was referring to you?
  25. Soxprospects puts the Sox down for needing SP, SS and RF. Id prefer Yoshida at DH if he isn’t very good in the OF, and the lack of a good DH market does help make that case…
