  1. And when he’s positioned on the Injured List for 70 games?
  2. Not saying he will definitely improve, but it is one game. Right now Corbin Burnes is getting beat up by the Cubs. Not so sure he’s a #3 pitcher…
  3. And we could have had him had that cheapskate Henry been willing to relocate the team to Orlando…
  4. I never liked moving Kike off CF for Duvall. Just get an interim shortstop…
  5. So… you’re observation that he was mediocre was based on using cumulative stats from a season in which he played 93 games?
  6. They can be but: 1. He can’t be optioned until the 90 days are completed and 2. Again, Song’s biggest flaw is his inactivity. Prolonging that will not help. Also not sure if his 15 day rehab assignment for returning from the Military List is counted among those 90 days. It shouldn’t be, because it’s a rehab assignment. But I doubt the rules are specific enough to really know just yet…
  7. That’s true. But it doesn’t help his Rule 5 status…
  8. He still has to be on the active roster for 90 days this season. But now those days can’t start until end of May…
  9. I assume you were looking in a Mira’s you typed that…
  10. Vukovich was an ace hitter for the Yankees in the first Major League movie…
  11. Right. It’s like when people say the greatest hitter in MLB history was clearly Craig Grebeck. It’s not wrong; it’s an opinion…
  12. Then it was a bad move. We needed a Plan B first…
  13. Fairly certain jad was as well…
  14. Oops. Typed it. It’s his age 26 season. Not even going back to fix it..,
  15. They have to carry him for 90 days on the active roster. They can also not demote him all year…
  16. Well, I’m wiling to listen on Kike’s D as mediocre based on what’s supporting it. But to just say “that’s my opinion” (which, to be fair, was NOT said by the original poster who postulated it) is obviously going to garner questions and counterpoints…
  17. Not so sure that’s the definition of “opinion” as much as it is the definition of “delusion.” But that’s just my opinion. Also Noah Webster’s…
  18. And to say his defense was “mediocre?” Mediocre by definition means “ordinary or below average.” It’s a comparative description. So am I too assume anyone who finds Kike’s D as mediocre has found roughly 15 centerfielders who are better?
  19. Oh well. Why have data supporting a conclusion when someone can disagree based on absolutely nothing?
  20. Based on what? Hernandez was 4th in MLB for Defensive Runs Saved among MLB CFs for 2021-22, behind only Taylor, Straw and Buxton…
  21. And as he turns 26 before July 1, this is his age 26 season. Exactly as I said…
  22. I’m wondering if we’re looking at the pitchers all wrong and getting too caught up in old scouting reports defended by “you think he forgot how to pitch?” The real question is - did he ever know? Since 2020: Ward (age 26) has 81 IP (33 IP above A ball) Song (age 27) has 0 IP Groome (age 25) has 241 IP (160 IP above A ball) Ort (age 31) has 114 IP, all of it in AAA and MLB. I’ve shown no love for Ort for a while now, but even as a reliever he has managed to log more IP at tougher levels than the players lost to Rule 5. And Groome looks more likely to be “the one that got away” than either Ward or Song…
  23. Then why did you post Tomase’s opinion?
  24. The rotation on Opening Day was: 1. Eovaldi 2. Martin Perez 3. Ryan Weber 4. Josh Osich 5. Matt Hall The bullpen featured Austin Brice, Robert Stock, and Kyle Hart. By season’s end, many of us thought Chris Mazza might be good. He wasn’t good. He also wasn’t Zack Godley, so we thought he might be…
  25. Also remember the starting pitchers for games 3,4 and 5 in 2020 were Ryan Weber, Josh Osich and Matt Hall. Game, set and match…
