  1. Trade Duran. To Miami for Braxton Garrett is still relatively close. Sign Matt Chapman. Sign a TBD RP. C - Wong, McGuire 1b - Devers. Unless you agree with the moronic logic that his contract should keep him at 3b 2b - Urias. Upgrade is possible. He’s a meh defender SS - Story. Probably the Sox best defensive SS since Alex Gonzalez 3b - Chapman. Would easily be the Sox best defensive 3b in the last half century LF - Yoshida CF - Rafaela RF - Verdugo DH - Casas SP - Sale, Garrett, Bello, Crawford, Houck RP - Jansen, Martin, Winckowski, Whitlock, Schreiber, Bernardino, Pivetta (also Sale’s injury replacement)
  2. Actually most scouts don’t use stats for a variety of reasons…
  3. Will he ever be done with them? Will any CBO/GM ever be done with them?
  4. So… you’re saying we still have Mookie? I did see him at Fenway last week…
  5. Or… Bloom inherited a $240miill team that was barely above .500…
  6. Also, Bloom was hired 5 days before the end of the series, but he didn’t actually start (aka “take over”) that day. I mean, who starts a job the same day they accept the offer?
  7. If Duvall and Turner leave (likely!), our primary RHH power bar is Story, followed by Urias…
  8. I’d deal Duran for pitching. Free agent starting pitching is a poor investment…
  9. Can you at least explain how a wager of dollars to donuts works? Would I be supplying dollars? Or donuts? How many? Do I get both if I win? Or some equivalent conversion? Any kind of donuts? And do I really want more than one anyway?
  10. Yes on the first part, no on the timeline of the second…
  11. I don’t like that they refused to invest in a Gold Glove winning Slugger and instead chose to invest in a defensively challenged one. Move Devers to 1b, Casas to DH. Sign Chapman, who fills two roles as a GoldGlove winning defensive upgrade and a middle-of-the-order right-handed bat…
  12. I have my doubts they deal Mayer and keep Rafaela at SS. They are weak at middle infield and have a glut of outfielders. I don’t think there is much beyond that for starting Rafaela at SS. Even if they made Rafaela the staring SS next year, it’s not like Mayer has some “Use By” date in the next 12 months. He could start next year in AAA (and probably will anyway). They’ll probably deal away an OF (Duran or Verdugo) this off-season, creating a place for Rafaela. After him, the best defensive CF on the roster might be Abreu…
  13. Story hasn’t been a good signing, but Sale has been far worse. Story could play injury-free for the next 4 years. Sale is 4 years into his deal and hasn’t even reached 200IP total yet…
  14. Julio Rodriguez is right there with him…
  15. Team is struggling. Old Red is back to rub that in..
  16. To many fans, yes. But again - what was he really hired to do?
  17. Wow!! Both Florida flavors!
  18. Vazquez knew he was on the block. His complaining about it just felt shallow. The standard for being poorly treated by a trade will always be Bronson Arroyo
  19. Given the way the Yankees have been using their resources lately, I’m not so sure that’s the key to a turnaround…
  20. It does help that Texas - a team who made all the types of moves people wanted Bloom to make - isn’t willing to wait for the Sox to climb up the standings and is apparently willing to rush down to meet us…
  21. DFA Barraclough and Llovera. Call up Gambrell and anyone not named Barraclough or Llovera…
  22. His subsequent failures to being in anyone else have not helped either…
  23. Barraclough was a bad call. Not sure why he came out for the 6th when Winckowski, Schreiber and Whitlock were available…
  24. The Kike/SS experiment wasn’ta bad idea, since the Sox had no one else capable of playing SS on their 40 man at the time (except minor leaguers Hamilton and Rafaela). The problem was it just went on far, far too long. Especially after the Sox signed Reyes…
  25. I’d feel bad for him, but he is supposed to be a pitcher, after all. It’s not like Cora is leaving Refsnyder out there. If Barraclough wants this to stop, maybe stop hitting and walking their hitters and get someone out…
