  1. At that point, they might DFA Tapia…
  2. Really? There’s a lot to like about this team, too. The bullpen has been great and is finally Ort-free. Sale has shown marked improvement in his last 3 starts and might be shaking off 3 years worth of rust. Some of the younger arms (Winckowski, Crawford) that were whipping boys last year are showing they might be good. Yoshida has turned around a horrible start. This team just doesn’t give up. 2-0 in extra innings despite giving up the first run in both games. That’s a huge step up over last year. Tied with the Yankees! I think they can stay in the postseason hunt.
  3. Hard to walk away from $300+ million, especially knowing one bad knee injury can make it a horrible financial decision…
  4. I thought you were fighting disinformation…
  5. It’s unfortunate, but that kind of thing happens all the time. They’re not going to DFA Brasier unless they need a 40 man roster spot, which they do not need in order to activate either Rodriguez or Paxton…
  6. As long as he’s not a DH…
  7. It would probably sting a lot less…
  8. I am ok with using one trade to justify another one…
  9. The other one is a much older 25…
  10. You sure? MVP said one of them was in Colorado…
  11. Rays give up 7 runs in the ninth inning to lose to the White Sox…
  12. But those were his only two starts after the trade deadline…
  13. Yankees trail Texas 14-1. Assuming no major bullpen catastrophe, the Yankees would move into the cellar, tied with Boston…
  14. Both pitch(ed) for Cleveland Both pitch left-handed. Both bat right handed. Both are from Florida. I can see the confusion…
  15. Pull him!! Before he pulls something!!
  16. The Sox dealt away Allen nearly 7 years ago. Sox fans can’t wait for Brayan Bello to make himself a Cy Young contender after 3 starts and 12 IP, or for Casas to establish himself after 75 at bats. So.. seven years?
  17. Not sure, but given he just completed 4 years with Boston and made 73 (out of 128) possible starts and ended his career with them injured, I’m not surprised he didn’t come back. Whether it was because Boston didn’t want him back out because Texas simply offered more money, I’m not sure…
  18. Well the best bargain so far is a guy who: 1. Cost $3.5 mill for one year, so no risk 2. Has a 1.86 ERA/1.00 WHIP 3. Once played for Boston 4. And Joe Castiglione once hinted was a major league *******. Castiglione might be right, but Wade Miley has spent the bulk of his career as a massively underrated pitcher…
  19. They also took 2 out of 3 from the Dodgers and outscored them 21-11 in the process…
  20. Anaheim would have a better record than Boston if not for losing 3 out of 4 to Boston…
  21. Senga has given up 5 HRs in 26IP. How did we miss out on this obvious fit for the rotation?
  22. Eovaldi? He was a good pitcher when healthy. But he wasn’t healthy all that often. And at 33, it’s a situation that’s only going to get worse. Texas signed him for 2 yrs $32mill with a vesting option for 2025. I would be surprised if that option (which requires 300 IP) ever vests. Eflin would have been nice, despite his lack of any track record as a starter…
  23. And they’re staying in top without their (arguably) best position player in Oneil Cruz…
  24. You really do like to argue both sides of this. Last year the Sox went through post season teams Houston, Seattle, Cleveland, St. Louis, etc. And your response was “that doesn’t count those teams are struggling at the time. Right now teams like Pitt and Minnesota are clearly not struggling and playing very well, but your attitude is “that doesn’t matter. They’re not good teams.”
  25. Says the guy who spent the entire off-season citing the Sox finished “behind the Orioles” as if they were still a 52-110 and not, you, an 85 win team that just missed the postseason. Also don’t forget, a lot of teams the Sox have played that have elite records have played either the Royals or A’s or White Sox or Reds or some other last place team. What last place losing team have the Red Sox played? The Sox have only played one series against a team with a losing record. How many of these “good” teams have? Even Tampa can’t say that…
