  1. See I just didn’t get enough votes…
  2. Clearly written by someone who never heard of poison…
  3. So… me? Because it’s especially sad when I do that because I’m many cases I know why they do…
  4. It’s not really a head scratcher; he was like 5th on the depth chart and they got there fast. And the charge was neglect; letting Judge go was only arguably neglect. Certainly keeping him wasn’t…
  5. For some folks, that’s what forums are for. And if it keeps you from drinking heavily or snorting Robitussin or juggling live hamsters, or what never your vice of choice is, I can understand that…
  6. He wasn’t traded away like the others…
  7. Excerpt their GM spent $400mill on a 31yo right fielder. Not really neglect…
  8. And if we give Winckowski the 6th inning and Martin the 5th inning and Crawford the 4th inning, we only need 3 IP from our starters…
  9. Denlinger also makes more horseshoes than German…
  10. I’m going to say something I haven’t said on over 3 years. But maybe, just maybe turning down Brusdar Graterol was the right move…
  11. If they can ever get a rotation of Sale, Kluber, Paxton, Bello and Pivetta, the remaining bullpen (Jansen, Martin, Whitlock, Houck, Rodriguez, Winckowski, Schreiber and Crawford) should be flat out trouble for opposing hitters. Of course it would be shocking if those 13 pitchers were all healthy all at once…
  12. I prefer both Whitlock and Houck in the bullpen, but not because of their track records as starters. I just really like the idea of a shutdown bullpen making the game 5-6 innings long for opposing hitters every night. Winckowski and Schreiber are doing that job, so to me it’s like Whitlock and Houck are pitching where needed. It’s nice to see some progress from Houck. But I think most of the “Whitlock to the pen” crowd is focusing on his health and injuries. And they do have a point…
  13. Reynolds’ DRS and UZR numbers suggest Reynolds does play CF, but don’t support that he can. At least not very well. It’s not even certain Verdugo can get to that -19DRS mark, let alone do it in as few innings…
  14. The Sox are 6-4 in their last 10. That’s really the goal of every team, to win 6 games out of every 10 all season long. It’s a ridiculous pace, believe it or not. And one 6-4 stretch (out of 16!!) isn’t enough, but I do like it so far…
  15. If there is a crunch, you might see Valdez to DH, Turner to 1b, Casas to Worcester…
  16. Also worth noting - it’s May 1st and the Yankees are currently in sole possession of the AL East cellar…
  17. I’d rather just extend him. Not a good pattern to deal players just as they get good just to obtain other players who aren’t good yet…
  18. There was a lot of “can’t play RF” stuff, but I think most of the trade talk was just speculation due to his remaining control. There’s been a pattern lately about players gettting traded when they have one year left…
  19. I don’t think the $20mill they threw at Kluber and Paxton was a factor in whether or not to throw $300mill at Devers…
  20. If the Sox extended him, then it’s pretty likely Devers would have walked after this year…
  21. I have to say - consider how good the Sox offense might be they got to face Kluber…
