  1. 1. Lugo is an interesting call. 2. It’s not an official MLB Trade Deadline until the Red Sox and Padres complete at least one trade…
  2. We at least agree it’s simple…
  3. Like Paul Blackburn? You’re coming around…
  4. Greatly prefer SP. Whitlock and Pivetta are just much better in the pen…
  5. The Sox like Refsnyder for his OBP, his ability to hit LHP, and his dirt cheap salary. But if he gets traded, they won’t struggle to fill that role. Kike and Duvall probably do for the rest of the year. And Worcester has Daniel Palka, Narciso Crook, Bradley Zimmer and Marcus Wilson - not exactly guys whose development needs more attention…
  6. Absolutely Verdugo over Duran. The main reason to move Duran now, however, is he should command a better return. But I play it safe and move the guy with less control…
  7. I think Rafaela can equal Chang defensively with potential for better offense. And like I said, it’s not looking like CF is waiting for him…
  8. This is true. I did learn that. But the rest of your postulate is mush. Pardon my eloquence…
  9. I don’t think Houck has much going on in there too cause worry…
  10. Fun day at Wrigley. Fatima needs to go. Glad we passed on legitimate MLB RHSP Chris Flexen to keep that roster spot open…
  11. Now if the Sox do need a full time SS over Chang/Reyes, maybe it really is Ceddane Rafaela time. CF in Boston is looking less and less likely for his future with every Duran start…
  12. On the bright side, several Sox pitchers are probably better hitters than Alfaro…
  13. … or a weak side platoon option…
  14. And I’m definitely right that that doesn’t mean post season always equals clutch…
  15. Then why operate on the massively flawed premise that “postseason = clutch and regular season = non-clutch”? No one has really ever given a good definition of clutch, but this is absolutely one of the weaker ones. You’re not the first to make it, but that didn’t mean it got more true…
  16. I think Kike’s D in CF is enough of a game changer it supersedes the entirety of what Duvall and Refsnyder bring to the table…
  17. We will use it in the comparative sense with the other option as Chris Murphy. Or Brandon Walter…
  18. No. I’m calling it a wildly inaccurate one. The overwhelming bulk of hits in the postseason have little to no impact on the outcome of the game, and not every game is a close game. If we pressed it down to individual hits, would the definition of “clutch” get expanded to include some hits just because it’s the postseason?
  19. Ok once again, this is a prediction. Not a preference…
  20. Your entire premise is flawed that clutch is decided by postseason numbers. By your argument, every two out single with no one on base through the month of October is a clutch hit, and that’s not some random occurrence but rather something that happens in every postseason game…
  21. Due to illness. He missed one start and threw 1IP the next day. He’s not a game-changer, but you’re over-analysis is very superficial and misleading…
  22. As opposed to Refsnyder in CF?
  23. What stats, if you please…
  24. If it gets to the point where Bloom has to manage the lineup, Cora should just get fired. And that’s probably what would happen. I think these two are more on the same page than critics of either individual want to acknowledge…
