I think DH is likely to be Yoshida. The Forum Wish List is a RHH RF to replace Verdugo, along with that aforementioned 2b and SPs…
-
Iglesias and Montas for Peavy. Hey we traded a shortstop for a pitcher!
-
Not specific to this instance - but after covering someone with scalding hot tar that burns and blisters any skin not outright removed, what exactly is the point of the feathers?
-
Twinkies are not food. They’re a type of sponge made from space age polymers…
-
I’m sure they also figured he’d fall off at some point and not be worth it, but here we are…
-
Or they thought they could use the $30mill on multiple lesser players who collectively made up for his contribution…
-
You didn’t use boldface…
-
And maybe even throw in Yordan Alvarez..
-
Think he’s not worthy?

Gambrell is another…
-
Same. No idea what Houston wants. They’re a potential landing spot for Verdugo. But I don’t see a Verdugo-Bregman swap happening anytime soon…

MLB.com listed their best candidate to be selected from each team. Angel Bastardo was the choice from Boston. Of course, historically maybe 2 players from that list get selected. No one saw Song and Politi last year. Maybe someone unsuspected goes this year, like Van Belle or Santos or Zeferjahn….

No love for White Sox right-handed hitting 1b/3b/OF Wilfred Veras, son of former Red Sox 3b Wilton Veras (and cousin of Fernando Tatis Jr.)? .879 OPS in limited action in AA last season…

Think Houston goes for it?

Vaz was another defensive loss. McGuire certainly hit a lot better than Vazquez…
-
Just asking how they did.
-
And how did they do after that? And
-
For what? BTV gives him a surplus value of $11.6mill, which certainly isn’t a farm-buster. Closest match in Boston is Schreiber ($9.7mill)…

Reyes was a pleasant surprise last year, but I absolutely do not expect a repeat at the plate. He has historically struggled to even maintain holding an MLB roster spot. Is ReyEd a step up or down over Wendle?
-
I certainly did, something I would also say about Wendle. And it turned out to be a pretty good thing we had JBJ in 2022 since Kike missed excessive time and we had no other viable options for CF. Cora even had to put Renfroe out there a couple times…

I’d say catcher defense is most important. SS and CF are both far and away more important than other positions. I won’t argue SS is more important or not. But both have big advantages. As of right now, Valdez is the Sox staying 2b. Do you prefer him over someone who can field? We know he can’t…
-
I do?

SS, CF and catcher…

There are a few (re: very few) exceptions. And Bregman is a whiny little cheater. Cheating is one thing. But if you’re going to cheat, at least man up and don’t whine about fans not liking you for it…

So not RH power bats? Most of them strike out a lot. Swinging and missing pairs up with swinging hard. The two go tohgether like peanut butter and marshmallow fluff…
