    There is a greater chance of myself being cast to play Little Orphan Annie in the next two Star Wars sequels. The Yankees just signed Judge to a huge contract, which, if the Angels could afford, would equate to a substantial down payment on Ohtani. Not to mention, the Yankees seem unlikely to go for a short term solution for a team with nothing but long term problems. Because dgalehouse was right; without Judge the Yankees are not a playoff team…

    Joe Castiglione once mentioned of all the Sox players he’s met, almost if of them were nice people. And only one player stood out just terribly unfriendly and unpleasant. I got the impression if EEI let Castiglione say “*******”, he would have. He didn’t name the player, but he did follow up with “he has a no hitter this year.” Castiglione made that comment in 2021…

    I think Kike gives them better OF defense. In the event they start needing to resort to non-starting players, the good gloves are more likely to meet your expectations. Duvall is certainly no slouch defensively himself and could be the player kept. (Most likely both are.) I’m fine with that as long as Kike doesn’t play SS…

    I think Kike is a good player who simply isn’t a shortstop. I also doubt he gets traded. Duvall might move. They signed Duvall to play CF, but Duran has shown himself more than capable. Refsnyder (and Kike) can handle right-handed platoon roles. So unless there’s an injury or unforeseen trade (Verdugo?), I could see Duvall moved at the deadline. Likely got an A ball player…

    The Cardinals need to wake up and realize they’re going nowhere and could lose Montgomery, Wainwright, Flaherty, Hicks and DeJong after this year followed by O’Neill, Gallegos and Goldschmidt the next. But hey, they get to keep Steve Matz…
