  1. I don’t feel too bad for him http://www.playerwives.com/mlb/san-diego-padres/mark-kotsays-wife-jamie-kotsay/
  2. When you list Crawford after Paxton, it makes me think of this guy https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/crawfpa02.shtml
  3. Unless they think Anthony Rendon is lonely in the Upper Upper Class section of the Injured List…
  4. There is a greater chance of myself being cast to play Little Orphan Annie in the next two Star Wars sequels. The Yankees just signed Judge to a huge contract, which, if the Angels could afford, would equate to a substantial down payment on Ohtani. Not to mention, the Yankees seem unlikely to go for a short term solution for a team with nothing but long term problems. Because dgalehouse was right; without Judge the Yankees are not a playoff team…
  5. That just sounds oddly cannibalistic…
  6. More like a homeless man’s Ohtani…
  7. LOL Pretty sure he meant Miley. He might have even made that comment prior to Kimbrel’s part in the combined no hitter. Miley would go on to get released by the Reds that year despite having a very reasonable option year left…
  8. But twice in 3 weeks is a bit frequent…
  9. Pivetta might be pitching himself back into the rotation…
  10. Joe Castiglione once mentioned of all the Sox players he’s met, almost if of them were nice people. And only one player stood out just terribly unfriendly and unpleasant. I got the impression if EEI let Castiglione say “*******”, he would have. He didn’t name the player, but he did follow up with “he has a no hitter this year.” Castiglione made that comment in 2021…
  11. He has a player option for $13.4mill with a $6.7mill buyout if he opts out, meaning anything over a one year $6.7mill deal is a pay raise…
  12. And Turner. It’s a $6.7mill buyout. He’s taking it…
  13. So… Stroman?
  14. Why not?
  15. He’s been a mildly pleasant surprise, but we probably never mention the name again after 2023…
  16. A team looking for a RHH power bat might take a flier on Dunn. Jorge Soler wasn’t exactly lighting up NL pitching when Atlanta acquired, presumably only because the price was right. And that deal could not have worked out any better…
  17. So he’s not in the bullpen?
  18. I think Kike gives them better OF defense. In the event they start needing to resort to non-starting players, the good gloves are more likely to meet your expectations. Duvall is certainly no slouch defensively himself and could be the player kept. (Most likely both are.) I’m fine with that as long as Kike doesn’t play SS…
  19. I think Kike is a good player who simply isn’t a shortstop. I also doubt he gets traded. Duvall might move. They signed Duvall to play CF, but Duran has shown himself more than capable. Refsnyder (and Kike) can handle right-handed platoon roles. So unless there’s an injury or unforeseen trade (Verdugo?), I could see Duvall moved at the deadline. Likely got an A ball player…
  20. The Cardinals need to wake up and realize they’re going nowhere and could lose Montgomery, Wainwright, Flaherty, Hicks and DeJong after this year followed by O’Neill, Gallegos and Goldschmidt the next. But hey, they get to keep Steve Matz…
  21. Too late. I already shot the message…
  22. 1. Lugo is an interesting call. 2. It’s not an official MLB Trade Deadline until the Red Sox and Padres complete at least one trade…
  23. We at least agree it’s simple…
  24. Like Paul Blackburn? You’re coming around…
