That’s the thing. Just because Bloom is gone doesn’t mean the purse strings are back open. Just because Keith Law said the Sox “need to act like [the Red Sox] again” doesn’t mean they will. I know the Sox repeatedly have said “money will not be a factor” but that stopped meaning anything during the Betts’ negotiations, which, regardless of what story you believe, fell apart when money became a factor. There may be a small to mid-market future here…

No. Just one franchise. The Apple Watch scandal peaked in comparison to the system the Astros put in place. And if the 2017 Astros don’t have their sign-stealing operation, the numbers could easily shift to 3 to 3 once the Sox knocked of the Astros

That’s not going to happen. Juan Soto has his own interests to take into account and they very likely do not sync up with the interests of the Padres or Red Sox. There’s a reason the 72 hour window to negotiate died off decades ago..
