  1. They’ve been using them all year…
  2. I find it hard to believe we only acquire stupid players. I think there is an over-aggressive baserunning initiative this year. The Sox have been trying to exploit the larger bases since December. Maybe this was a team wide stategy in the dugout as well?
  3. Oh the Sox have needed Chang. Mostly when he was on the Injured List…
  4. He had his 34 plate appearances and failed to dazzle. Reyes is more likely. DFAing Hamilton still means demoting a player with options. Who did that leave? Urias? Duran?
  5. Well, what we’ve learned is there are more stories about him selling than buying…
  6. But how far? Hec wasn’ta first rounder on any mock drafts. MLB.com said at the time he was a 2nd or 3rd round pick, but expected to fall. That puts him exactly where Zeferjahn is…
  7. I’d think so if this was an isolated incident. But why do the Sox make so many absolutely pathetic baserunning mistakes? That triple play a couple weeks, for example, back wasn’t bad luck…
  8. They absolutely could have. Assuming any other deadline deal negotiations were reasonable…
  9. Ah but you’ve never spent $240million to miss the postseason…
  10. Llovera is a DFA candidate. Jacques will be demoted…
  11. I was shocked at the uproar it caused this time. Ryan Zeferjahn was drafted a full round before and has pitched the while, and I don’t think his selection would cause nearly this much uproar…
  12. And the amount of defensive flounder by Kike at shortstop should have clinched his removal. But somehow even after Cora said he was done, Hernandez kept finding himself penciled into the lineup at shortstop …
  13. True. Reyes has an expiration date himself, tied to Story’s return. Unless the Sox send Urias back to Worcester at that time..
  14. I’d be surprised if he was claimed. But DD May strike again…
  15. Also the media types you seek out aren’t news; they’re opinion columnists. Massarotti is an established liar, and the rest live in a world where the more negative they are, the more clicks they get. And of course, more clicks translates directly to more advertising revenue. For a guy who passionately advocates the eye test, your version of it seems to involve less baseball watching and more perusing of Shaughnessy columns…
  16. There is absolutely nothing wrong with basing your own opinion on your own thoughts as opposed to what you want Cora to think. None of us have any idea if Cora is embarrassed or not. And it’s not a matter of opinion…
  17. Exactly what I am asking…
  18. None of us are. He hasn’t pitched enough ever to even let us know what his speed is…
  19. Even so, Arroyo has been worse than Reyes? Or does Reyes still have an option left?
  20. Not until December, assuming he is worth it by then…
  21. That’s baseball in the 2020’s. Tampa seems to use opener more often than the Sox do. And since the days of the 6-7 man bullpen are over, these games are not as detrimental to the pen as they used to be. But Bloom should have gotten a starter…
  22. To me the question is - why Arroyo over Reyes?
  23. Whitlock in the pen, yes. Houck can be in the rotation, and very likely will be. He’s not on the IL for any reason but a fluke play…
  24. Hopefully something comes from this, but I do doubt he gets added to the 40 man roster next year…
  25. Pablo Reyes survives another day…
