  1. If that’s true, it doesn’t say much for DD…
  2. They have 6 games against Texas (10-17 in the last 27) and the White Sox (56-91)…
  3. So you think the draft pick would have been better?
  4. Agreed…
  5. So now… https://sports.yahoo.com/report-nl-exec-believes-shohei-185715574.html
  6. But that doesn’t mean Bogaerts would have. Especially since Boston was only 3 games out at the time…
  7. Good thing. They’re all over 60 and none of them play baseball…
  8. Not true. We’ve got a BS post going around this morning that Bloom held off on unloading Sale plus his full contract. If nothing else, it’s a clear attempt to blame Bloom for Sale still being here…
  9. They had a $240 mill 84 win team with $300mill ties up in 3 oft-injured pitchers for 11 seasons. With 10 of those seasons in the books, only once did the pitcher to 110 IP. I can see a the logic behind a rebuild…
  10. That shows how bad Kike was.
  11. It’s been made. It’s over. I want to say “the defense rests,” but my case was more about defending the other 29 MLB front offices out there. Nothing to do with Bloom…
  12. DD was the finish painter who made the bedrooms look good. (Not sure who chose teal, but whatever.) Bloom was pouring a whole new foundation. Both are going to get to a livable house at different times…
  13. It’s simply not believable. Unless the offer was for a worse contract, why would any team take on Sale? Because he used to be good several years ago? Ok, so was Bumgarner but these same GMs let him clear waivers and still didn’t sign him when he cost the league minimum…
  14. No it isn’t. The story said after the bike accident. That puts it in late 2022. When was the last time Sale was pitching like a highly talented pitcher? 2018? Early 2019? At that time, Sale had pitched 47 IP in the last 3 years. He’s off the radar. On this board, Sale is considered “unreliable.” Why is it we assess him that way but think people who have to actually pay him don’t think he’s that way? Also - buying him for next to nothing? He will cost them $55mill. That’s not “next to nothing.” I’m not so sure GMs view deals for “only money” the same west fans do. I’m calling this whole thing ********. It’s not believable in any level…
  15. He didn’t have to trade Betts to stay under the CBT. But that still doesn’t change that Betts had one year left and refused to sign an extension. And some reports have those extensions up to a $30mill AAV…
  16. I have thought of a scenario where the rumor makes sense. What if the team willing to take Sale was the Nationals and the trade was for Strasburg and his whole contract? Or to the Tigers for Miguel Cabrera and his whole contract? Or for Bumgarner or Giancarlo Stanton? I suppose those scenarios are believable…
  17. Trading for Sale to take a chance on him isn’t the same as trading for Sale and taking his full contract. Not to mention the source being cited so far for this rumor is well beyond questionable…
  18. Future Hall of Famers get traded away often, usually for financial reasons. Exactly why would a team be dealing FOR Sale and his full contract?
  19. Does everyone think trades are solely for getting rid players?
  20. Zero chance it’s true. Why would any GM want Sale at full price? Most pitchers making half as much don’t get traded to a team that takes on the full contract. I mean, the only reason to trade for a Sale at all last year would have been to add him while Boston paid the bill. And to offer to take the full contract AFTER an injury? No f***ing way. There’s just no GM other that stupid…
  21. It does seem as though a lot of people are committed to the notion that Yoshida’s True Destiny is to be a MLB DH. Do the Sox think that’s the plan?
  22. Wrong!! They’re all Cal Ripken clones until their managers wussify them!!
  23. No. We’d call him Scraps…
  24. I’m ok with that…
  25. We had one call to extend him and then trade him…
