  1. I don’t see a stint overseas causing anyone to overlook German’s off field alcohol and spouse abuse issues…
  2. We get to include Andre Dawson and Luis Aparicio!!
  3. 1960 NL MVP Dick Groat never played for the Red Sox https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/groatdi01.shtml
  4. But most of his contracts have been pretty short. Only Devers, Story and Yoshida signed deals longer than 2 years…
  5. They just extended Reynolds last year. He has 7 years $99mill left. That’s really not outrageous…
  6. He’s also expressed interest in being extended. Hopefully Breslow at least sees what he wants…
  7. The Twins exercised their option on Kepler, giving them a LHH right fielder who has fared far better on defensive metrics than Verdugo…
  8. What about Candelario?
  9. He needs a partner…
  10. Unless Breslow decides he isn’t. I won’t speak for Breslow; I just acknowledge he makes the calls…
  11. The one area where the Sox were far and away worst in MLB was defense. DRS ranked them 24th in MLB, and that was their most favorable defensive ranking. OAA not only had them 30th, but also had them very, very far behind the team ranked 29th. Moving Yoshida to DH ain’t gonna fix this on its own…
  12. Story is certainly the front runner for the job, especially since it’s typically easier to find a good 2b as opposed to a good SS…
  13. The solutions are potentially linked. We have some starters that we feel belong in the bullpen. And presumably if the Sox do trade Jansen, it won’t be for cash…
  14. I didn’t mind the not selling. But when it was coupled with the not buying, that’s a different story…
  15. Sonny Gray and Charlie Morton. (Also Nola, Giolito and Snell, but how many do we need?)
  16. Hey if the Rangers limited themselves to reliable starting pitching, they would have had no deGrom, no Eovaldi, no Heaney and no October…
  17. It’s not even that easy, what with money complicating things…
  18. Certainly those are options. I just have no idea what direction Breslow will take the roster…
  19. Possibly because they’re entire business model is based on reporting sports transaction news? And your rather cumbersome title is really not accurate. It’s simply a list of players whose projected arbitration salary exceeds their value to their current team, aka potential free agents. I mean, Cody Bellinger was non-tendered last year and he will be getting MVP votes this year…
  20. MLBTR has published their list of no - tender candidates based on their criteria. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/10/2023-non-tender-candidates.html McGuire and Urias. No surprises there. I can see reasons for tendering them both an offer, and for non-tendering them both…
  21. No. He lost a bundle when the stock tanked due to that giraffe stampede through our headquarters that was started by that meteor…
  22. It does make him heir apparent to controlling interest in Notin Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Notin TransGlobal MegaCorp (NTMC)…
  23. Last week that weather was detrimental to pitching. This week it’s a selling point?
  24. He will come in handy if Sale gets lonely in the IL…
  25. I was telling that the other day to my eldest son, Simonize Archipelago Fruit Bat Notin…
