  1. If any team offered Ohtani $280mill, he’s probably tell them for that amount he won’t pitch and will only bat right-handed…
  2. Never wanted Nola and Maeda anyway. Although I did think Nola would sign a bigger deal…
  3. Kim from SD, I think you mean. India’s name will get bandied about as well. I don’t like the defensive fit, but I wouldn’t say it’s impossible…
  4. The Talking Heads on MLB Network keep throwing that number out there. We can just wait to see what happens when pen hits paper, but I’m not sure it’s an insanely unrealistic as it should be…
  5. Oh he isn’t getting that money from Boston. Those will likely be either Dodger Blue dollars or loonies…
  6. As of the Soto acquisition, he is a $9mill fourth outfielder. Even the Yankees don’t want the sat level of financial burden. Unless they think playing the annually fragile Judge in the more demanding CF position, which is made unnecessary with the acquisition of the defensively gifted Trent Grisham. They’ll move Verdugo in the near future…
  7. I doubt Verdugo ever dons pinstripes…
  8. But how many of us agree with the current projections of Ohtani approaching $600mill?
  9. Just reading this post would give Justin Morneau an apoplectic attack…
  10. So the guy who has pitched 214 IP in the last 3 years interests you but the guy who has pitched 380 IP is too risky?
  11. Yamamoto is reportedly the top priority of the Mets. The Sox aren’t winning that bidding war. Snell, Montgomery, Stroman snd Imanaga look like more realistic targets. And only Montgomery has had any rumors attached to anyone…
  12. I don’t think it will hurt them long term. They gave up one legitimate starting pitching prospect, two fringey pitchers that could go either way, a veteran bullpen arm with 2 years of control left, and a backup catcher.
  13. Now what do they do with Verdugo?
  14. Per MLBTR, Ohtani might sign by Sunday. Maybe not this Sunday, but one of the next eight…
  15. You do realize 1) I don’t need anyone’s permission and 2) your acceptance of the joke does make it less funny to me…
  16. Hey in 2023 I think he spent the entirety of deadline day in the bathroom with a magazine…
  17. I’m not saying his plan was great, only that he was active…
  18. I’ll be flexible as he does things. Most teams have done even less than the Sox. But there will be Kia jokes!
  19. Most recent years they have been. The one exception with the flurry of activity was the right before the lockout…
  20. Supposedly in 2022, he was trying to get something bigger done. He has said he was trying to get Sean Murphy out of Oakland, for example. But 2023? I heard his name attached to two player - Urias and Kolten Wong. And neither rumor surfaced until 5 minutes before the deadline…
  21. Winter meetings rarely have any real activity. Ok they did that one year when e had the lockout coming…
  22. Full Throttle - Kia Sedona Edition…
  23. But he spurned the Dodgers at the trade deadline because he didn’t want to go so far from the least Coast. Apparently LA is too far, but Phoenix isn’t.
  24. Well, one guy. But he didn’t have much experience and his ERA after a few IP is way under 4.5..
