  1. Prediction: Red Sox sign Montgomery Mets sign Yamamoto Blue Jays sign Snell Giants sign Lugo Dodgers sign Imanaga Yankees sign Stroman
  2. CitiField. But MetLife should be embarrassed for missing out on this opportunity…
  3. That’s ok. I fall into both groups…
  4. Shea Stadium? The Sox have no games scheduled in 2008…
  5. Word has it the Dodgers are scouting babies born in the last two years, figuring they will be MLB-ready and making minimum wage around when that deal finally expires…
  6. Boston is far and away the easiest city of the three to park a car in. Does that count for anything?
  7. No. I’m hanging my hat on the Sox hat on the Sox fans wanting just one title for decades above all else and being willling to settle for anything afterwards just to get that. I don’t make any pretense about the 2020 title being legitimate or not. Because it is legitimate, and I wouldn’t lessen it if the Sox had won it…
  8. I think it does reduce the AAV. It did with Sale…
  9. Sometimes the grass is greener simply because of all the fertilizer. I’m calling BS on that poll. We were also-rans for a bunch of years and no one liked it. Heck, people freaked out at the Bloom hiring because they thought we were going to be Tampa North. Tampa has 5 straight postseason appearances - a streak the Red Sox have never had in their 120 year history. But still, no one wanted to be the Rays. I bet if that question was reversed and Boston’s last 10 years was one titled and a slew of near misses, and the Dodgers had two titles and a slew of bad seasons, and that same crowd was asked that question, you’d get the exact same answer. After all, none of us from 1918 trough 2004 were saying “just one more ALCS appearance before I die.”..
  10. As long as it doesn’t launch them at anyone driving the Kia Artest…
  11. Kia named a car after Rajon Rondo?!? I assume it was marketed towards to Road Rage crowd…
  12. [insert oft-repeated Kia Sedona reference here.]
  13. IMO you have to gets best available using whatever method is appropriate and affordable. Just clarifying that I didn’t take it to mean putting off any/all acquisitions until July…
  14. I don’t think that’s what he meant. I think he meant sign two starting pitchers this off-season (rather than trading for one or both) and save the prospect capital for trading at the deadline…
  15. Yamamoto has until the first week of January to sign. I don’t expect him to do anything until his deadline date is very close…
  16. Can you imagine the internal uproar if the Dodgers leave them empty-handed again?
  17. Or.. you give up a chance to pick a player who might never be a legitimate prospect, hold on to the ones that have worked out to date, and simply negotiate with a player upfront about his free agency. Preventing a player from reaching free agency is a dicey proposition if said player is hellbent on testing the market. And the Ohtani deal might have made a few more players hellbent on doing just that…
  18. At some point, they must have some sort of financial limitations. “All in” doesn’t really give them more cash than Cohen. They should add a pitcher. I just don’t think they are going to add the most expensive one. Especially since, 2024 aside, they did just drop a bundle on a guy who can pitch very well. And while their financial resources must have some limit somewhere, their prospect capital is seemingly unlimited. I could see them as players for Burnes (and Adames?), Cease, or Bieber…
  19. As much as the Dodgers do need pitching right now, I’d be surprised, shocked and possibly even flabbergasted if they signed Yamamoto as well. Yamamoto is, I’m going to put the probability at roughly 95%, likely to sign with one of the NY teams. Sox need to pivot to Montgomery. Now reportedly they are also exploring the trade market for a starter. It would be nice if they were linked to any of the available names. Or any “unavailable” ones. One thing I find confusing about their trade market involvement is, per MLBTR, they are reluctant to give up the draft pick to sign Snell or any QO free agent. Ok, so they are reluctant to give up a draft pick but ok with giving up actual prospect talent? That makes very little sense. And there are plenty of reasons to avoid Snell above and beyond surrendered draft picks…
  20. At some point we need to revisit his love for transsexual clowns and reptilian activities…
  21. I’m ok with no Lugo…
  22. The more I look into this, the more I start to think Montgomery is just a much, much better pitcher than Snell. Hoping Breslow ignores Blake the Fake and signs Montgomery…
  23. My big problem had the Sox given Ohtani that contract is I just don’t have faith in Henry bulking up the payroll to $350mill. And if he keeps it in the $200-220mil range, then Ohtani, Sale , Devers, Story and Yoshida take up about $170mill, leaving $30-50mill for the remaining 35 roster spots. I don’t see that as a formula for a winner…
  24. You were called for behavior you’ve exhibited. Simple as that…
