  1. Getting a 2b shouldn’t be such the hamstring. Not ever sure why hitting LHP is the priority. Just get someone who can field the position. His 3-4 PA in the 40ish games the Sox face a LHSP isn’t likely to have the same impact as the 600-700 chances a full time 2b can see in the field. I’m ok with defense and moderate offense from either side. But a 2b who can field and slugs from the left side (Jake Cronenworth, for example) shouldn’t be eliminated from consideration…
  2. I have mixed emotions on acquiring Montgomery and Burnes. And all of them are based on how many Simpsons’ references I think I can handle…
  3. When the proposed unlucky sample is twice the size of the proposed lucky sample, maybe you need to re-evaluate what the norm is…
  4. “Let’s not try to get good until we’re good!”
  5. And no one knows whether or not those key pieces on other tabs will go down for the season…
  6. Number one is being on the West Coast. Curse those early British settlers for deciding to settle so far east! They clearly didn’t account for the impact it would have on trying to sign NPB free agents!!
  7. And his mom was a steroids dealer!!
  8. No urgent need to pivot now; most of the A List options are still available, and most if not all are unlikely to sign before Yamamoto. Jim Duquette was on MLB Network’s Front Office suggesting Yamamoto would likely sign before Christmas. I have my doubts, but his posting system deadline is January 4. So that’s worst case. And it still leaves plenty of time for the vultures to circle over Montgomery, Snell, etc…
  9. What if Henry is such a horrible dinner companion he blows the whole deal single-handedly and ruins all Breslow’s hard work? That would be even worse, because then the attitude will be “well Henry did have that dinner, so Breslow is clearly the problem.”
  10. Are we seriously playing the “O’Neill is on steroids” card? No wonder our star players leave and no one wants to come here and replace them…
  11. But what are the chances of him becoming a $30mill version of Michael Kopech?
  12. Breslow could throttle over somewhere and maybe get a 2b. Just to appease a grumpy fanbase…
  13. You’re saying he’s a Soviet?
  14. “Big Arms Alert!!”
  15. “Babies hate Buchholz!!”
  16. “Bauer is a rapist!” “Clevinger hates babies!!”
  17. At what point do we factor in that the best player the Sox got in return was James Loney?
  18. I’m surprised anyone would need that much incentive to move out of Philadelphia…
  19. Marlins now. Also a completely different human being than his brother…
  20. How much bigger? Think anyone offered him $200mil? Safe bet those offers were right around what Philly offered and he took the status quo…
  21. Why else would Jacob deGrom have signed with the 68-94 Rangers?
  22. Apparently he’s got his American colloquialisms down pat already…
  23. If the Sox don’t get Yamamoto, the logical pivots are Snell, Montgomery, and Burnes…
  24. And you really think that attracted better players?
  25. The Mets weren’t hurt by a lack of a closer; they were hurt by having so few games in which they needed one. They only had 18 blown saves, third fewest in MLB…
