  1. Yankees being rumored = positive. Sox being rumored = “interest kings”. Let me know when the Yankees sign someone. Did you know so far the Yankees have spent the same amount on free agents as you have?
  2. And Carlos Rodon is the Yankee Savior? (I mean, Juan Soto?) In 9 MLB season, Carlos Rodon has 911 IP. History STRONGLY suggests a very predictable season outcome. Rodon makes Chris Sale look like Hoss Radbourne…
  3. No idea what you’re talking about except: 1) so you clearly agree no one else in the AL East has done anything. Toronto apparently gets points for future moves they haven’t made yet, but in the meantime, why are you simply not acknowledging they’ve spent less on free agents than Boston despite being praised for their cash, and so far their big lineup changes are replacing Matt Chapman and Brandon Belt with Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Cavan Biggio. 2) that comment referred to Bellhorn’s anticipated commentary from Biggio, involving him likely saying most teams haven’t done very much (true), there are still opportunities to improve (also true) and the Sox are trying like hell (debatable, but not patently false)…
  4. Most of that happened after the trade deadline when the trans in the running bolstered themselves and the Sox handed Luis Urias a white flag. They were 3 games out at the deadline, yes or no?
  5. I’ve been saying basically that for weeks, but with more typos…
  6. And yet the plastic dumbbell guy had one less home run and a higher SLG as rookies. I think the Sox should keep Yoshida. He’s got potential to be their best OBP bat and that is one star they desperately need…
  7. I think they’ll make some moves - some that look detrimental and some that look good (but will be disparaged anyway). And I think they weren’t as far from the post season as many want to believe last year.
  8. And that’s the story you’d tell if you were in his place as opposed to the first one, right?
  9. Of course Breslow is going to say all that. Why wouldn’t he? It’s not even a lie…
  10. Yoshida came to Boston for his age 29 season and posted an OPS+ of 109. Hideki Matsui came to NY for his age 29 season and posted an OPS+ of 109. For the next 7 seasons, Matsui would post an OPS+ of 126. Did anyone see that coming after Godzilla’s first uninspiring year?
  11. And Jeffrey Springs!
  12. San Diego. They need LHH. But they might want to send a contract back. Yoshida for Yu Darvish? Darvish is owed $83mil over 5. Yoshida is owed $74.4mil…
  13. He’s also got Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I guess I can pass. That can be a career ender for lots of guys…
  14. Pass on Soler and pass on Teoscar. If you want a RHH bat for RF at Fenway, either bring back Duvall or find one on the trade market…
  15. That Urena made the top six pitchers speaks volumes…
  16. We only need to catch Toronto and New York. We did win 78 games last year. 10 more than WSC Texas won in 2022. My issue isn’t the team’s inability to get a frontline pitcher. Or an ace. Or whatever. The improvements need not be so specific. But wondering does need to happen…
  17. Sox ownership might not be alone in our division Who is running away with the AL East? Baltimore - added Kimbrel. Lost a couple of mediocre starting pitchers Tampa - Added Pepiot but lost Glasgow New York - Added Soto but no pitching Toronto - Added Kiner-Falefa but lost Chapman/Belt Boston - Added Giolito and Grissom but lost Sale Obviously we had more ground to make up, but the rest of the division is not exactly running ahead and leaving the Sox behind.
  18. But more family-friendly…
  19. I could have gone with my question about whether or not a horde of one man in his 60s can constitute “storming”…
  20. Right. Dude, you went from trashing Sale to praising Atlanta for acquiring in a span of several posts…
  21. You’re over 230 years late on that mission…
  22. … unless Sale only pitches 50IP or so…
  23. The Red Sox would also have more to do if they kept that $17mill. Assuming Atlanta still took Sale, the Sox would have to get a starting 2b for less than $17mill to come out ahead. Given IKF went for $15mill, it’s a safe bet Whitfield isn’t going for less…
  24. Does Tony have a degree in mathematics from MIT like Jeff Sagarin does?
