  1. They always say that...
  2. Didn’t one player schedule surgery eithin48 hours of that statement? Really, the dispensation of medical status isn’t always Dombrowski’s to give. I’m sure he’s allowed to say somethings, but at some point HIPPA comes into play...
  3. They do have some bullpen depth, but I’m not all that convinced on quality yet. The pitchers on the 40-man who constitute that depth include Poyner, Scott, Walden and Cuevas. The only one I like there is Poyner...
  4. You can make a living on the corners. Jamie Moyer did that for 60 years and did so with mediocre stuff...
  5. Meaningful is one thing. But we will see a bunch of MLB debuts next year, and I would anticipate Sharwyn, Lakins and Hernandez to each make theirs. I doubt Feltman makes his in 2019. Can we let him pitch in AA before anointing him heir apparent to Kimbrel? On the position player side, Chavis and Ockimey should both be on the 40 man roster, but I think one (or both) gets traded and the other isn’t up until September, barring catastrophic injury problems...
  6. Yesterday’s chat on MLBTR suggested a possible trade of Michael Chavis to Texas for Jean Leclerc, which moderator Jason Martinez liked. Of course, this was an MLBTR chat and we have no idea if Boston is talking to Texas or how each team actually feels about the players involved. Martinez did indicate that Boston might have to add another prospect if Texas is aiming to sell high here...
  7. So “ Wait till next year!” can be replaced by “Wait till 4 years from now!!” ?
  8. That might not be all of the criteria for being GOAT. If it is, I’m in the running here...
  9. And Orel Hershiser in 1988 when he almost single-handedly defeated the Bash Brothers. Or was it the Steroid Siblings? Or were they the ones who went by “We Are P-E-D”? Anyway, Hershiser was about as dominant as any player ever...
  10. Sorta the point. Let’s wait until Cora gets a larger body of work...
  11. And for kicking puppies!!
  12. Exactly. Saying Cora is the greatest Sox manager of all time is like saying Roger Maris is the greatest home run hitter in American League history...
  13. Exactly. After his first year, it certainly looked like Price would opt out. One year later, we all knew there was no chance...
  14. Groomer has barely pitched and Casas was in high school last year. These guys are at least 3years away. Even Feltman only has a year of A-ball under his belt. Hernandez is the most likely of the Sox high ranked pitching prospects to make an appearance in 2019...
  15. It will also depend on the condition of Thornburg’s shoulder. Smith should probably go. He’s pitched like 10 innings in the past two seasons combined. If the Sox want him back, he might be available on a minor league deal. And I do agree they will probably have one less catcher....
  16. Not JBJ, and possibly not JDM...
  17. It’s possible some from the set of Thornburg, Smith, Hembree and Workman are not offered arbitration, freeing up another potential $6mill...
  18. Trevor Rosenthal was a long shot for the Sox bullpen anyway, but apparently he has already agreed to a contract with the Nationals...
  19. His contract was originally signed with the Marlins and the Brewers unloaded the top of their farm for him. Lorenzo Cain was signed as a free agent. And for a lot more money per year...
  20. He was never a free agent. Yelich signed his current deal after 2 years of service time and avoided the arbitration process and delayed his free agency by 3 years. The Sox should try to lock up Benitendi similarly...
  21. Price over Eovaldi?
  22. That leaves out the Red Sox. Bleacher Report ranked their farm 28 out of 30....
  23. I have Sprint. In fact I’m posting from my cell right now and let me tell you my reception is alwa
  24. Just so you know, Familia would be a fan of you pitching for the Sox...
  25. And if you live in the bottom of a valley you never have to worry about a cliff...
