Yeah that’s a head scratcher, to be kind. Both Pearce and Swihart have 2b experience (although very little from Swihart). And Nunez is still alive, right? I don’t get why Vazquez gets the nod at 2b here. Was it a choice between him and Price or something? I think I’d even give Porcello the start at 2b over Vazquez. I don’t see why not Nunez at 2b, Swihart catching, and Pearce or Travis in LF. Or Vazquez catching, Nunez at 2b, and Swihart in LF...

Also, Lourdes Gurriel was demoted today. Gurriel was all over the place in two games against Boston, going 3 for 6 with a steal of home. Against everyone else, however, he was 4 for 33 (.121)
