  1. I haven't read their lease, but I doubt there is a "World Series Champ Opt-Out" clause....
  2. Hey, Middlebrooks tried to make that game-saving tackle on Allen Craig...
  3. The .400 winning percentage was the lowest since 1965 (.383). Prior to that, the Sox haven't had another season with a sub-.400 wining percentage since 1932, when they had the franchise-worst winning pct of .279...
  4. Looking around, prospectinsider.com has the Sox taking OF Jud Fabian (U Florida). They have previous pick Hill going 19th. This is also the latest anyone has Fabian going. https://prospectinsider.com/2021-mlb-draft-order-top-prospects-rocker-leiter/ Bleacher Report has UCLA SS Matt McClain going 4th, but they do not impose a team order over their rankings. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2895880-2021-mlb-mock-draft-early-predictions-for-top-1st-round-baseball-prospects Prospectslive.com has the Sox taking Jack Leiter (RHP Vanderbilt) https://www.prospectslive.com/mlb-draft/2020/9/26/2021-mlb-mock Prospects365.com has the Sox taking Jack Leiter, but they have the Sox picking 3rd. They have Miami Hurricane C Adrian Del Castillo going 4th https://prospects365.com/2020/09/04/mason-mcraes-2021-mlb-mock-draft-2-0/
  5. As of right now, Baseball Prospectus has the Sox taking LSU RHP Jaden Hill. http://baseballprospectjournal.com/2021-mlb-draft-mock-draft-top-10-picks/
  6. And even if they lose faith, they can flip flop him with Dalbec. Devers is last on the list of Sox problems...
  7. “MLB-ready reliever” is a Kiss of Death among Sox draft picks. See Hansen, Craig...
  8. Former HOF second baseman and ESPN commentator at 77...
  9. After which, they should fire Cashman. I assume Boone will be long gone. The Yankees should trade Dominguez and Frazier before dealing Torres...
  10. I think he trades for Jessica Biel and surprises us all...
  11. Legally, it was considered a lake...
  12. I left off a few precedents, most notably Jumbo Diaz and CC Sabathia...
  13. At some point, being "one of the better options" from this year's Sox pitching staff is an honor akin to "having the one of the more fearsome goldfish on your street"...
  14. The Sox 40 man roster has far too much fluff for there to be any crunch...
  15. No. The Sox currently have 46 MLB players (counting those on IL but not counting Bradley) for their 40 man roster spots. But they also have 15 players by my count they could DFA and watch clear waivers. 17 if you think Weber and Mazza could. They can DFA enough players to cover their minor leaguers needing protection. Having very little talent in the upper levels (who are more likely to be selected over A ball players) certainly does help here...
  16. So he thinks of Cora and Hinch but not Maddon? He’ll be available once they replace Eppler. And Boone will be next...
  17. Except Ryan Dempster and Gil Meche, who both did....
  18. He has options. Right now, all he takes up a 40 man roster spot, which plenty of other expendables do as well. Now he might be dealt, but I don’t think his departure is imminent just yet...
  19. There are plenty of precedents like Rick Reuschel, LaMar Hoyt, John Kruk, Cecil Fielder, Jon Broxton, etc. that you need to get around first...
  20. I agree on most of those names - maybe not Chatham - as being gone. One guy I think very likely to stay is Matt Hall. He was acquired for his outstanding spin rate and I doubt they give up on him after only 8 innings...
  21. I’d say it’s more likely to be a difference maker for Dombrowski....
  22. The team payroll will be north of $200 mill. They’ll be fine...
  23. Sure it could. And the Sox have at least that much to spend already. I have faith enough in Bloom that Pedroia's deal won't be an issue...
  24. Point? Tanner Houck was on the exact same pace after 3 starts. Is the benchmark for representative sample size more than 3 starts but less than 6?
  25. They're the only team that can! At least this year...
