  1. Also Domingo Santana is available. And basically free...
  2. He meant if you don’t count the IL time...
  3. Jose Peraza has played 62 games in the outfield. I say try Chavis in LF...
  4. Are we done yet? Ross Stripling to Toronto. Announced on MLBTR at 3:59CST
  5. Delayed announcements are apparently still filtering in. Padres acquired Taylor Williams announced at 3:34CST.
  6. I actually did not like trading Osich. But without knowing what we got back, that’s definitely premature...
  7. Didn’t you say earlier you didn’t want him to give players away? If no other team was willing to give up anything good for this crowd, what was he supposed to do? And Barnes and a Perez are controlled for another season. They were trade bait, but moving them was not necessary...
  8. So Barnes and Peeez stay put. Sometimes deals can trickle through to the media for a bit. But I think they stay...
  9. Osich to the Cubs for PTBNL
  10. Pillar to the Rockies. PTBNL and slot money...
  11. The Mets/Vazquez talk is overblown per Rosenthal
  12. Maybe next year...
  13. But every year you rebuild becomes expensive to the team. They need to get interest back ASAP. This year is a weird pandemic year, but if next year isn't and there is no reason to watch after July 31st, that will become a big issue...
  14. Three hours and change until the deadline. Can Bloom pull off another deal?
  15. Fangraphs gives Devers -0.1 fWAR. And a big reason has been his defensive play, which has him dead last in Defensinve runs Saved among MLB thid basemen and 16th of 18 qualifying 3B in UZR/150. Of course, you're only comparison is of Devers to other Sox hitters. His replacement value is positional, so Peraza and Martinez, etc. are scored relative to different players than Devers...
  16. So apparently it is Clevinger, OF Greg Allen, and PTBNL for OF Josh Naylor, RHP Cal Quantrill, RHP Joey Cantillo, SS Gabriel Arias, C Austin Hedges, and INF Owen Miller. Seems like Preller robbed the Guardians blind...
  17. Moreland just typifies the idea that everyone knows to trade a player when his value is high, but no one wants to because that means he is playing well...
  18. Clevinger to San Diego. 5 deadline trades for the Padres...
  19. Well, they can ride out this year with Plawecki and solve that problem in the offseason. Not like Plawecki is going to derail the season...
  20. It's probably tough to pull of a trade like that, especially since the legal teams need time to review the contracts...
  21. I can agree with that. But it is fairly tough to pull off too many trades in such a short time. Any discussion would hopefully already have started...
  22. Very possible. however, they might call up Duran or move Chavis to the OF. Or get an OF back in a trade. And maybe Beni returns at some point? Updates on him have been pretty limited. Probably because no one really cares with the year he was having...
  23. THat's situational. A team like Cleveland that has struggled with OF all year might want a solid starter. But certainly some teams might prefer the depth. The interesting part here is teams looking for a platoon have the option of a hitter from either side. If either goes, I prefer it be Pillar. That way it removes the temptation to platoon Verdugo (assuming Pillar is not the starting CF)...
  24. Well, he is hitting. Something JBJ stopped doing after the first few days of the season. But if I was a GM looking for a CF, I would target Bradley over Pillar...
  25. I think that's how they title their media guide...
