  1. And if Detroit knocks off Cleveland and Seattle, the Sox head back to Fenway! But that might be getting a little ahead of ourselves…
  2. He will drop down in sprint speed because of the retirement of Martin Maldonado and the likelihood of Rowdy Tellez actually getting back to MLB. This will leave him fighting Wilmer Flores, Giancarlo Stanton and a couple backup catchers for the honor of being the slowest man in MLB…
  3. I think it will take long enough that he will get injured again before he heals. But will the Sox offer arbitration to Lowe based on my theories?
  4. Cleveland has been on a ridiculous tear. Granted, the bulk of it was against a struggling Tigers team, a useless White Sox team, and an AAA team wearing Twins uniforms. But they did win. The Yankees 8 game winning streak looks good, but they also beat up on 2 last place teams for those wins. Boston didnt look as impressive down the stretch, but they were playing against teams fighting for postseason spots, and did manage to do pretty well against them.
  5. Casas is arb-eligible. If he can’t make MLB, he should be non-tendered, correct?
  6. Wrong on all counts. It’s current member of the Chicago Cubs - Drew Pomeranz…
  7. NBA does that as well. But those sports have a huge advantage in that everyone plays indoors…
  8. The Yankees are riding an 8 game win streak, but Cleveland just came back from 15 1/2 games down to take the Central, breaking a 110 year old record. And took down Detroit 5 times in the past two weeks. There was no easy path. Boston wasn’t trying to lose; they were setting up the rotation. And Detroit was playing for the Central title…
  9. It’s odd that some folks think the east path involves taking on the team that just completed the largest comeback in MLB history
  10. No but Detroit could have applied urgency with a win. I don’t think Theyre as happy as you think with the loss…
  11. The Rangers scored 3 times in the top of the 10th. If the Ranger bullpen can get 3 outs before it gives up 2runs, Detroit would have won the AL Central with a win today. I don’t think they are as happy as you think about losing. Especially since Cleveland has played them 6 times in the past 2 weeks and won 5 of them…
  12. If Detroit won, they’d be playing in Detroit (assuming Cleveland, tied at the moment, loses)…
  13. If the Sox lost, they might be headed to Detroit and not Cleveland…
  14. But they won…
  15. A certain other MLB pitcher on a team headed to the postseason won 4 games this year, his first wins since 2019. Know who? Hint: He used to pitch for Boston…
  16. Sox are playing for nothing; Tigers for the division. Sox are winning after 5. Are folks certain the Sox are the team not trying to win?
  17. Plus with 32 teams, everyone can make the postseason in a nice, easily bracketable format…
  18. Fair. Of course other teams rarely show that consideration, some even when expecting it…
  19. I should point out I’d still pull Giolito from the start today and instead start Payton Tolle. Not trying to lose, but setting up the rotation for the postseason is a consideration as well…
  20. No. Houston offered him one last year…
  21. But don’t you think MLB CBOs are also familiar with Bregman and feel the same? And that his agent - While not allowed to actually talk to those CBOs - is aware of this? That’s why I think he stays. I’m not sure many teams are in on him as a 5 year solution…
  22. I’m working with what I have. And I asked to only be graded on the voice…
