  1. Kike will probably play LF or CF vs LHP, with either Verdugo or Duran sitting, depending on who’s slumping more. Vs RHP, I’d like Kike at 1b, but that remains to be seen…
  2. Santana can be released. Chavis can be demoted. But Marwin has played some quality glove this season…
  3. Yeah I’d rather read moon’s stuff than do actual research myself….
  4. Duran’s situation is so different from Castillo’s that he’s not a good counterpoint. The Sox weren’t trying to keep Duran’s minimum wage MLB salary away from the luxury tax penalty. They didn’t call him up because they wanted him to get more at bats. Cora said so repeatedly. At some point, they decided now is the time. I seriously doubt that evaluating a bunch of late 20 to 30ish year old journeymen was a factor in determining anything about one of their top prospects…
  5. The reality of the situation is, Chaim Bloom was among those who didn’t think Duran was ready a month ago…
  6. Not to mention the number of assumptions that got used as support statements. None of us know when Bloom thought Duran was ready. Not until today…
  7. It also means “a drink, remedy or extract prepared by soaking leaves or herbs in liquid”…
  8. So NBC sports edge is unaware that the Sox 2b is Christian Arroyo?
  9. We can’t tell if he was sold low until we see what he gets. BTV does give him a rather low value (2.4), but he’s been struggling in AA most of the year…
  10. Especially Kopech, given Dombrowski’s career-long love of flame-throwing pitchers. Kopech might have been the hardest thrower he ever had in any MLB organization…
  11. I could see Potts being dealt. If Bloom makes any significant moves, prospects on the 40 man with no immediate future in Boston (Potts, Groome, Rosario) are likely candidates. I might consider Mata and Ward but both are out and not likely to garner attention…
  12. Remember when we all bashed him for saying a top 30 MLB prospect already in AAA should be promoted? Me neither. (Although this post might count.)
  13. So is reality…
  14. Well, depends what’s coming back. Trades aren’t always about “giving up” on someone. Not like the Sox gave up on Kopech…
  15. Not sure why, but Wilson isn’t so widely regarded. He’d get claimed if waived, but any trade involving him will either be small or include him as an ancillary piece…
  16. I think the absolute worst thing anyone said about a Duran promotion was “probably in September”…
  17. 5 minutes? I'm that far behind in a one mile race. I'm further back here...
  18. I think Marwin is headed to the IL to make room on the active roster for Duran. If they demote Chavis, which is still possible, then someone else gets promoted to fill his roster spot. Cordero?
  19. If the Sox get a LHH 1B, maybe they deal Dalbec for something and keep Chavis as the RHH platoon option. I think weak side platoon might be his ceiling...
  20. There was no bashing and negativity, not even in that strongly-resembling English language you clearly speak. I was Duran’s harshest critic, with the possible exception of Max, and even I said “at some point this year.” Now I also questioned if he was overvalued based on his history, but conceded he might be good based on his stat evals. And that I would have traded him in the right deal. But at least I was against calling him up to bench him. I just don’t get that idea. Especially after hyping him as such an important missing piece. Also he hasn’t answered my questions yet about whether he’ll be any good. I’m starting to think too many people have adopted the idea that “not agreeing with me 100% is the same as disagreeing with me. Also it’s bashing.”
  21. Probably injured. I don’t imagine there is much demand for Wilson, although he could get some ancillary piece.
  22. This is what happens when people just read stats without even looking at them. Rookie David Price wasn’t even a starter for the 2008 Rays during their postseason run. He also relieved for the Sox in his injury-plagued 2017 postseason and pitched 0.2 in mining’s in relief in an 18 inning game in the 2018 World Series. And once in Toronto in 2015. As a starter, he started 14 games and logged nearly 84 IP. That’s nearly 6 innings per start on average. In today’s bullpen-happy game, that’s hardly an issue…
  23. With the exception of 2018 (and his injured 2017), Price also pitched 220 innings every year before the playoffs. You don’t think that was a factor?
  24. Would you deal Duran for Spencer Turnbull, who reaches free agency the same time as Means?
