  1. My point. When was the last time you bought a keg? Has anyone of legal drinking age ever bought a keg?
  2. Barrels is fine. The word screws has a lot of meanings, some too delicate for a family-oriented forum such as this. Nobody talks about barrels any more, except when discussing the price of oil...
  3. Exactly. Which is part of why “barrels” and “extra base hits” do not always have an obvious relationship...
  4. And you can double on a well placed blooper...
  5. Actually Barnes' struggles were typically when working on minimal rest. Second day of back-to-backs were when he was just flat out ineffective...
  6. Dalbec's OPS is .579. Certainly not good. In fact, quite bad. But nowhere near .300. His BA is below the Mendoza line, however...
  7. Seen it and agree on all counts. I used to call one of my fantasy teams "The Tampico Stogies". (I'm down to one team this year, and am using the Gashouse Gorillas. My Bugs Bunny fandom got he best of me.) "Little Big League" also was a movie that took a ridiculous premise and turned it into a surprisingly good and well-written baseball movie as well.
  8. So in the category of movies about banged-up veteran catchers trying to provide fatherly guidance to hard-throwing phenoms with control issues amidst a cast of baseball groupies, die-hard Christians, and teammates practicing voodoo, would you say it's your second favorite movie?
  9. The second Tim Tebow?
  10. If the Sox are in the market for a corner OF at the deadline, I would suspect someone like Corey Dickerson or Kole Calhoun over Bryant...
  11. “Major League” was a complete ripoff of “Bull Durham.” You just know the whole pitch for that movie was “What if we take the characters from ‘Bull Durham’, but rename ‘em and put ‘em in the majors?!?”
  12. It’s not like anyone said Renfroe and/or Cordero are better than Betts. But I do find it interesting that both combine to make less than Jacoby Ellsbury is still making with the Yankees, especially considering Ellsbury hasn’t played a game in nearly 4 years...
  13. I’d pass on both in favor of a sports movie devoid of ghosts, magic, paranormal, animals taking the field, or Tony Danza. I look at, say, “Brian’s Song” as a good sports movie. Somehow I think you’d pass saying “A football movie without a mule?!??! Gimme the remote!!”
  14. Either way, it makes me like Cora more...
  15. Agreed. Certainly some other combo on BTV can be found that works on that site, but probably not one the Cubs would accept. The Sox might find deadline acquisitions difficult if the other teams insist on Houck as part of the return package...
  16. Maybe they do, but Cora answers with an unprintable profanity-laced tirade....
  17. You do have an affinity for some of the worst sports movies ever made...
  18. Per BTV, the Sox could get him for a package of Houck and Thad Ward. That’s not an unreasonable package, although it might not be the best offer. But is it a smart move given that Bryant is not very likely to sign an extension? His agent (you know who) has been battling to get him to free agency for almost his entire career...
  19. And Mookie came up in this post why?
  20. Exactly. The Arizona Fall League, for example, has a season maybe 25-30 games long. Yet it gets made such a big deal of..
  21. I definitely have, but I also usually acknowledge that his knowledge of any situation is obviously far deeper than any superficial questions I have...
  22. Duran has played about 150 games in the outfield in his life and all of it over 2 years ago. I think they’d like him to play OF a little this year prior to reaching the majors...
  23. Also facts Franchy Cordero - 2021 salary $800,000 Hunter Renfroe - 2021 salary $3,000,000 Jacoby Ellsbury - 2021 salary $5,000,000
  24. With guys on the 40 man roster, the moves are easier. Part of the problem with sending Taylor “down” is only recently has there been any place to send him down to. But yeah, he probably needs a demotion...
  25. I’ll make a prediction - Marcus Wilson. Brewer is another candidate, but minimum wage pitchers with MLB experience are probably the least likely candidates to clear waivers. And as they are already on the active roster, one has to think Brice, Taylor and Valdez are ranked ahead of Brewer...
