  1. WTF does this sentence mean? Not trying to be snarky, it literally makes no sense.
  2. It was pretty obvious he's talking about common sense. Reading Comprehension 101, try it.
  3. Give it up max, he will never acknowledge that someone else might have a valid point. You know what I don’t understand? Why iortiz is posting here instead of managing a major league team. I’m still blaming OB for mentioning the Yankees were having trouble scoring runs.
  4. Like I said, this loss is on the offense. Once again, several opportunities to score runs, couldn’t do it. Yankees had exactly one, and they cashed it in.
  5. If you meant lots of games have been won when scoring 2 runs, I can only respond lots more have been lost when scoring only 2 runs.
  6. Whatever. If the Sox lose this one, it’s on the offense. One run on Raffy’s homer and gifted the other on a wild pitch. Two runs does not win many games, no matter who your pitcher is.
  7. I asked who you would have brought in. A name. Anyone else is a total cop out.
  8. Right, because in the span of 2 pitches (after the HBP, Higashioka singled on an 0-1 pitch), a reliever was supposed to get warmed up.
  9. That’s not an answer, but I’d expect nothing more from you. I’m shocked you actually attempted a response.
  10. Definitely. Either Schreiber or Whitlock for the 7th, depending on the matchups and how the hitters have done on those guys (data Cora has and we don’t) Edit - Llovera back out. Mistake in my mind, but we pretty much are in try out mode at this point, so who knows. IMO, if Bloom is retained, it would not shock me to see Cora resign; they are definitely not on the same page.
  11. You don’t post and run. If asked a question, you usually answer it and you do it often enough that if you don’t answer, I figure you just didn’t see it.
  12. So enlighten us with what you would have done?
  13. iortiz is one of the masters of 20-20 hindsight. I seriously doubt he will answer my direct question to him about about what he would have done.
  14. Put on your big boy managers pants and tell us who you would have brought in? You even have the benefit of hindsight here.
  15. I know it’s garbage, but OB’s announcers curse works again for the opposition. He blabbed something about the Yankees having trouble scoring runs and immediately they put up a 3 spot.
  16. What did Bloom have to do with any of that?
  17. Make some suggestions as to who you would have used. There are guys you use when you are ahead and guys you use when you are behind. Hint, the latter types are not Martin and Jansen. Like so many games the past couple months, it’s the starting pitching, not the #6-8 relievers.
  18. It would have been 50-50, but I think you send him. 1) You have nothing to lose 2) It was going to take a perfect throw to get him. If the O’s make that perfect play, hats off to them. Of course, they would have made that perfect throw, because that’s the way things are going for the O’s this year. Just like had an Oriole batter hit the ball Story did, it either would have been a couple feet longer and a couple feet higher and clanked off the pole, or it would have taken a crazy bounce for a triple.
  19. And high school players who are playing anywhere except shortstop, pitcher, catcher or centerfield seldom get drafted.
  20. Are you complaining about picking high school shortstops or high school players in general? Surely you do realize that virtually the only high school players drafted are pitchers, catchers, shortstops and center fielders, with the latter two in far smaller numbers than the first two. College is a different matter, though the vast majority of high school guys who play in college were, wait for it, high school pitchers, shortstops, catchers and centerfielders.
  21. Martin pitched the 8th. You want him to pitch the 9th, 10th and 11th as well? Schreiber did the job in the 9th and 10th. Crawford going less than 4 was a killer.
  22. Pretty sure the Sox have the fewest in the majors this season. At worst, they have the second fewest. I think they are best in save percentage or again, maybe second.
