    I remember watching the game that Holt hit for the cycle in, it was about 3 years ago. What is forgotten about that game is that the Red Sox almost had 2 players hit for the cycle that night. Mookie had a single, double and triple. Right after Holt completed his cycle with a triple, Betts came up with needing a homer to also accomplish the feat. He flied out as I recall. I don't think two players hitting for the cycle in one game has ever been done. To have the possibilty of 2 guys hitting back to back in the line-up do it is mind boggling.

    Bogaerts seems to be reverting to last year, taking a lot of first strikes. No so much taking, but not even looking like he's going to swing.

    Depends if they score or not. If they do, yes. If not, you need 6 outs which makes it harder to use Thornburg. Probably Blaser in that case.

    Best hope for the Sox is Gibbons overmanaging and bringing the Jays' pen into play. They aren't going to touch Strohman.

    Strohman has had more than a little to do with that; he has been very good tonight.

    I tend to agree. His only value to Boston is what he can give the Sox and there is no indication that that is much of anything. If he turns it around somewhere else, so be it.

    How? They are both in the starters right now. And would you trust Pomeranz out of the pen right now in anything other than long relief.

    Who else are you going ot put out there right now? And keep in mind, Velazquez hasn;t pitched more than 2 innings at a time since April.

    If Strohman has that kind of stuff all night, he is going to be very tough. That slider was nasty in the first inning.
