  1. I’ll take negativity from guys like you, notin, moonslav and others who post in good times and bad. I don’t need to read it from guys who only show up when the Sox are losing and are nowhere to be found when things are going well.
  2. He’s a clown. He’s (supposedly) watching the Bruins but manages to come on here multiple times since he posted that and leave his usual drivel. I don’t give out ignores very much, but Fred adds nothing and has earned that “honor” from me.
  3. Same clown they’ve had the past couple years, Peter Fatse, who stinks at his job. Heard an interesting thing today that last year, Bregman noticed something with Story, after which Story had a really good last 2/3 of the season. It wasn’t Fatse, it was Bregman who turned Trevor around.
  4. I’m not in love with Cora, but I think his hands are tied. He’s got a s***** roster. As an organization, the Sox are wedded to a crap one size fits all hitting philosophy. I’d blame Driveline, but the Dodgers use them and they seem to be doing fine. Of course, they probably paid to hire the Driveline guys who know what they’re doing. The Sox cheaped out and hired the guys who told Jim Rice to get lost in spring training when some young kid had the audacity to ask a HOF hitter for advice. These guys may well have ruined Campbell and who knows who else.
  5. I think it was the 11th, and most of the first 10 declined to even interview.
  6. To be fair, Twins are white hot right now. They've won 7 of 8 and beat up on two other all-stars in Skubel and Framber Valdez in the last week. Sometimes it’s when you play a team, not who you play
  7. One thing I’m seeing is the Twins are going to up to the plate with a plan. They look for a pitch and they aren’t missing it. The Sox plan appears to be swing hard and hope the pitcher hits the bat.
  8. Well, it’s not going to matter if the Sox offense stays in St. Louis. Meanwhile, the Twins are way too comfortable in the box. A couple high and tight might be in order.
  9. Twins are getting all manner of hits. Well hit homers, ground balls going through, dinks in the first inning. When a team is hot …
  10. The big damage happened in 8 pitches That’s how many Crochet threw between the hit that drove in the 5th run and the solo homer for run number 11. And those 8 pitches contained 2 outs. 8 pitches and 7 runs scored.
  11. Because Henry isn't going to eat $36M plus whatever said replacement would cost and Breslow has been told that in no uncertain terms.
  12. Why would there be? He had a horrific game. Even the best have them once in a while. As I wrote last night in the gamethread, I think he (or Narvaez) was tipping pitches. The Twins seems to know exactly what was coming. Or maybe he's gotten into some sort of pattern with his pitches that the Twins picked up on. I do know in the second inning, the hits that drove in the 7 runs all came in the span of 8 pitches, and that included the two outs he recorded in that inning. Yes, his velocity was down a tick, but that happened a few times last year and he was able to pitch around it. He couldn't yesterday. If we see a repeat over the next couple games, then I'll worry about a physical problem.
  13. My opinion for what little it’s worth, he (or Narvaez) was tipping pitches. Twins really looked like they knew exactly what was coming. The hits that scored the 7 runs in the second inning totaled a span of 8 pitches (and that included 2 outs). Yeah, his velocity was done about 1 mph, but I don’t think that was the issue. He’s had that happen before and been able to pitch around it.
  14. Watching the Masters; based on the length of the thread, Sox must be winning fairly comfortably.
  15. Not like May was dotting the corners either. Lots of hot table pitches they let go by to get in a whole.
  16. Rice just basically called out Fatse and his stupid Driveline approach of trying to launch everything. Of course, to the current Sox hitting gurus, what does Rice know about hitting.
  17. Worst thing is the pitch missed the target by 2 feet. It was supposed to be a slider down and away and instead ended up being a backup slider high and in.
  18. And that changes what I said how? The loss is on the offense.
  19. A loss is on the offense (again). They scored 2 runs, one of which required a trick play double steal. You don’t win many against anyone with output like that. You sign most teams up for 3 runs allowed and they’ll take their chances. This team, especially on the road this year …
  20. Myopic me, I missed the May part. Memo to self: don’t overthink things at 11 pm local time.
