    Max, that was Hernandez who struck out last inning; second time you’ve said it was Renfroe. And JDM didn’t ground out, or at least his ground out bore a strong resemblance to a fly ball to left. Looks like the middle of the order is starting to cool down again, which does not bode well for the offense. Plus 3 will be in Denver instead of getting a few days off.

    With Barnes having thrown 30+ pitches last night, it’s likely some combination of Taylor and Hernandez for the 8th and then Ottavino for the 9th.

    Betts and JBJ each got one; Beni did not (AL left field winner was Alex Gordon of the Royals). Kinsler also got one at 2nd base.

    He was lucky and unlucky. Vazquez has hit 2 balls much harder than anything the Angels hit last inning and is 0-2 in those ABs. It’s baseball.

    Deep voice is Ellis Burks; began and ended his career with the Sox and played for a few teams in between. Not sure who the PxP guy is. They are filling in for O’Brien and Remy this weekend although it could be for the whole west coast trip. I don’t think the announcers are traveling with the team yet.

    Hey, that was before the DH. Gibson could have done some offensive damage himself (and he was a decent hitter for a pitcher; he hit about .200 and had over 20 career homers).
