  1. You got that right. Fact is Taillon pretty much matched Nate (2 of the runs he allowed were unearned).
  2. Got too much of it; needed to take a page from Stanton there.
  3. He had better stuff than Thursday. Not much you can do about 2 doinks that you couldn’t have thrown into better spots.
  4. You may not want to hear it but it’s the truth. You don’t think Taillon had something to do with that? The other team has major league players and stuff, and Taillon has been pitching really well for 5 or 6 weeks.
  5. Worst thing is Ottavino has not been hit hard at all.
  6. I know it’s hard for you to understand, but Taillon was really good today.
  7. Nobody was going to catch either of those.
  8. He is a PITA; the kind of player you love when he’s on your team and hate when he’s on the other team.
  9. Great effort by Nate; let’s hope Ottavino has more than he had Thursday night.
  10. Gardener could spoil the complete game effort with these foul offs.
  11. I’m not. He shut them down completely last Sunday and has had only one bad outing in the last 5 or 6 weeks. A lot of that ERA was in April and May.
  12. Nate has 69 strikes out of 84 pitches. When a pitcher has that kind of percentage, there’s no sense trying to work the count unless you like to hit 0-2.
  13. Yeah, Nate should have made sure Guriel hit that first one harder so that Kike could have an easier play.
  14. Well, I’d cut those two a little slack since they haven’t had a whole lot of PT at the major league level over the past couple months. I’m just glad to see Plawecki start today. Vazquez is close to being on fumes as much as he’s played recently and there’s 2 months to go. I really would like to see them split time 60-40 for a while.
  15. It was a stupid pitch sequence by Cole; he blew two 98-99 mph fastballs past Duran and then tried to get cute. He throws another heater up and Duran probably strikes out. I get the 0-2 curve down; change the eye level. After that was just sheer arrogance. What was it Ted Williams said about how dumb pitchers can be.
  16. Guess they just needed to Ghost to go to bed. Csn we send him some Benadryl for tomorrow?
  17. What’s the record for wild pitches in an inning?
  18. I know you did. And I said at the time the 7th was too early. Years ago, the Sox would sometimes run for Ortiz in the 8th. Often as not, his spot would come up in the 9th or 10th snd he’s on the bench. Never pinch run until you have to.
  19. Like I said earlier, not in the 7th. And does Duran get a hit in the 9th like Dalbec did?
  20. Gardener is such a PITA. The type of player you love on your team and hate on the other.
  21. He’s normally their 8th inning guy, right? Neither set-up guy had it tonight.
  22. I’m guessing Vaz to first, Kike to 2nd, Duran in center and Plawecki behind the dish for the 10th. Barnes on the mound. Edit-Plawecki to first is Cora’s choice.
  23. He’s fast but he can’t pinch run and pinch hit at the same time.
