  1. If he had tried to steal 2nd, it would have been defensible there. Trying to take 3rd was just plain stupid (again).
  2. Rafi needs to relax; a single is good.
  3. Running Arauz here would not be the worst idea
  4. If Cora had any guts, Wong or Plawecki would be catching this inning. Vaz would be sitting for several games.
  5. Exactly. He seldom hit the ball to right field before the All-Star Break. Everything was hit to left and usually hit hard. Now that swing isn’t there; he’s not able to get that bat around as quick. It doesn’t take much to throw a hitter off.
  6. Bogie needs a bunch of days off to try and heal that wrist. Right now he is hurting both the team and himself. IL him if he can’t help himself. Rafi needs to stop trying to hit 900 foot homers.
  7. Guerrero is an infielder, Cordero is not. Those who say you can just plug anyone at first are clueless.
  8. The top half of the pen has been fine. They aren’t perfect, but they’ve gotten the job done most of the time.
  9. Ultimately didn’t matter but it did cost Houck to throw 4 extra pitches.
  10. I think Perez could gone when Sale comes back.
  11. Not even close. That team was 83-52 going into September and went 7-20 from there. Heck they ended August 7 at 70-43. That team had a better pitching staff and a better offense than this year's version. That month, they went 1-2 against Texas, 2-5 vs. Baltimore, 1-3 vs New York, 1-6 against Tampa and 2-4 vs. Toronto. All they had to do was win one more game against Tampa and they were in the playoffs. One more win against anyone else and they had a playoff game with the Rays. That was a collapse for the ages by a pretty good team. This year's team has never been in that category.
  12. You have no idea what efforts were made nor of any restrictions Henry put on him. Personally, I think he was handcuffed by JH, but that’s just my opinion/speculation. The only sure thing is that no one here knows.
  13. Nothing wrong with bringing Barnes in there. Sox had a golden opportunity in the top of the 6th to put a crooked number up on the board and the top of the line-up totally pissed it away.
  14. That would work but the rotation was fairly decent through the first 90-95 games or so and Vaz caught an awful lot of those.
  15. I cringed when OB said Barnes had not allowed an earned run in his last 8 appearances.
  16. I was going off what the Sox announcers said; either way, it ended up the way it should have.
  17. The announcers screwed up the term, but what New York ruled was obstruction. From my umpiring days, the penalty in that case is the batter is safe, the ball is dead and all runners advance to the base they would have safely gotten to if there had been no obstruction. In the end, the situation ended up correct since 3rd was as far as Dalbec would have gotten.
  18. I think the plate ump called a swing. He kind of pointed at him, like they do when they call a swing.
  19. Killer was Kike striking out; he has to get Dalbec 3rd somehow. Jays will now push across a run somehow.
  20. I don’t think Gurriel ever did either. Verdugo got back to it first.
  21. He’s arguing a replay, Montoya should be tossed.
  22. The way things are going, they will call Verdugo out. If they do, Cora needs to go nuts on the ump.
  23. At least he made up for it with a single. Edit - reply was as you were editing
  24. Might be time for some small ball; can Arauz bunt?
