  1. That’s 3 today for him.
  2. Get the feeling this team is going to be really streaky this year?
  3. Time for a JD special
  4. Well, no perfect game for the Pale Hose.
  5. Perez should sue his defense; it has been pathetic. Should be a 1-0 game, maybe 2-0.
  6. Horrible break there; that’s likely a DP if it doesn’t hit Houck.
  7. That would have really been the only time, and it really didn’t end up hurting them thanks to Verdugo. If he used him in the ninth for Renfroe or Cordero, all the Twins would have done is held up 4 fingers, so that that would have been wasted.
  8. So you won’t say when you would have used him?
  9. I assume you’re talking about JD. When would you have used him?
  10. I don’t think the Twins did yesterday; there was only 1/2 hour between games. But yeah, separate admissions have become the overwhelming norm; those should absolutely be 9 inning games.
  11. Clemens first 20 K game was against Seattle; he did it again against Detroit a decade or so later.
  12. I think I read this was the second time this year she had struck out 21 in a game; the earlier game was not as perfect though, as she walked a couple and allowed 5 hits and a couple runs.
  13. Agree with almost all of these: Comments: #4 I can live with 7 inning doubleheader games so long as they are the traditional 2 for the price of 1 (fans are getting 14 innings of baseball if they stay for both). If clubs opt for separate admissions, both games should be 9 innings. #5, I thought they changed the rule last year (or was it the year before) to mandate that the September roster would be 28 players (no more, no less). I would add to the rule and say you still have to designate 26 for a particular game. Moving the mound back will increase offense and lengthen games. High School softball did this a decade or so ago; this area used to have state title contenders every year so it got a lot of local coverage; seemed like once you got to the state level, games would often be 1-0 in 18 innings. They moved the pitcher back 3 feet and the offenses took over.
  14. Carlos Rodon tossed the 20th no-hitter in White Sox history last night vs. the Guardians. A ninth inning HBP prevented a perfect game. I assume he will be on the hill for Chicago on Patriots Day.
  15. Because once the White Sox added him to their 40 man roster when they called him up in August 2010, he was never sent to the minors again. He never burned even one option year (technically, he has 3 remaining). Any time spent in the minors before you are added to the 40 man are not option years. Any years you spend in the minors after you are added do. There is another provision though, once you have 5 years in the big leagues, you can’t be sent down without your permission. So while Sale has 3 options remaining, they are meaningless. Ditto a guy like Bogaerts.
  16. You burn an option every year you are sent down after being placed on the 40 man roster. You don’t have to be called up to the big club for that to kick in. Teams will generally wait to put youngsters on the 40 man until they are ready to call them up for the first time.
  17. Did the Sox win any of these last year? Seems like they lost every one of them.
  18. Of course, if the ground ball doesn't hit 2nd base, it's a DP and Andriese pitches 3 scoreless.
  19. With Means’ pitch count, it’s not a given the pen will come into play.
  20. Probably fell asleep waiting for Andriese to throw the ball.
  21. The Alou brothers (Felipe, Matty and Jesus) all played for the Giants in 1963. After Jesus came up late that season, the three of them played together in the outfield at the same time a few times, although they never started a game together. Felipe’s son Moises also played in the majors.
  22. It hits even harder when it’s somebody you knew. I lost one of my ND roommates earlier this year (non-Covid). That was a real punch in the gut.
  23. Assuming you are referring to the late 50’s/early 60’s Yankees using the KC franchise as a major league farm club, that was the Athletics, not the Royals.
  24. Why doesn’t everyone just put this clown (the OP) on ignore? At least we would be spared reading his pathetic cries for attention and the constant I’m not posting until ... or I’m going to stop being a fan. I know ignore isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but some people just seem to deserve it. My apologies to clowns everywhere.
