  1. All I’m saying is Hatch is not strictly a AAA call-up. Looks like he has a decent fastball, but is having trouble tonight with his off-speed stuff. He’s only got 30 innings in at AAA this year, so his outing will be short in any event.
  2. Which means nothing. He was on the 60 day IL a big part of the season; his AAA stint this year was more rehab than anything else. He also pitched pretty well for the Jays last year (17 games) and was on their postseason roster.
  3. No. He’s been battling a wrist injury since the All-Star Break. If you’ve watched him swing the past couple weeks, you could see something wasn’t right. Such injuries are a real problem for any hitter. He really could use a week or 10 days off to let it heal, but I think they are going to try to nurse it along.
  4. That is simple; the Rays. We have 13 games left with the Tampa; the opportunity is there to take care of them on our own. You need to drive a stake through the Yankees' heart and shoot them with a silver bullet. Until they are mathematically eliminated, you never want them to win.
  5. The pitch to Odor wasn’t bad either, it barely scraped the wall
  6. See your previous post about fairness.
  7. You got that right. Fact is Taillon pretty much matched Nate (2 of the runs he allowed were unearned).
  8. Got too much of it; needed to take a page from Stanton there.
  9. He had better stuff than Thursday. Not much you can do about 2 doinks that you couldn’t have thrown into better spots.
  10. You may not want to hear it but it’s the truth. You don’t think Taillon had something to do with that? The other team has major league players and stuff, and Taillon has been pitching really well for 5 or 6 weeks.
  11. Worst thing is Ottavino has not been hit hard at all.
  12. I know it’s hard for you to understand, but Taillon was really good today.
  13. Nobody was going to catch either of those.
  14. He is a PITA; the kind of player you love when he’s on your team and hate when he’s on the other team.
  15. Great effort by Nate; let’s hope Ottavino has more than he had Thursday night.
  16. Gardener could spoil the complete game effort with these foul offs.
  17. I’m not. He shut them down completely last Sunday and has had only one bad outing in the last 5 or 6 weeks. A lot of that ERA was in April and May.
  18. Nate has 69 strikes out of 84 pitches. When a pitcher has that kind of percentage, there’s no sense trying to work the count unless you like to hit 0-2.
  19. Yeah, Nate should have made sure Guriel hit that first one harder so that Kike could have an easier play.
  20. Well, I’d cut those two a little slack since they haven’t had a whole lot of PT at the major league level over the past couple months. I’m just glad to see Plawecki start today. Vazquez is close to being on fumes as much as he’s played recently and there’s 2 months to go. I really would like to see them split time 60-40 for a while.
  21. It was a stupid pitch sequence by Cole; he blew two 98-99 mph fastballs past Duran and then tried to get cute. He throws another heater up and Duran probably strikes out. I get the 0-2 curve down; change the eye level. After that was just sheer arrogance. What was it Ted Williams said about how dumb pitchers can be.
  22. Guess they just needed to Ghost to go to bed. Csn we send him some Benadryl for tomorrow?
