  1. This Shaw-Vazquez 8-9 duo is really dynamic. They combined have hit the ball about 100 feet tonight. Vazquez has about a .500 OPS right now, he's really killing the ball
  2. Shaw, Bradley and Hanley of course all slump at the exact same time.. and Vazquez I guess is slumping? I mean he sucks at hitting so I'm not sure what a hot streak for him is? going 3-12 over a 3 game span?
  3. Just wondering if anyone here ever ran into any current or former Red Sox players and what you opinion was of them as a person? Or in any sport for that matter. I had the opportunity to meet Pedro Martinez in the airport one time where I guess he was picking up family or something. he was extremely polite and nice and had no problem signing an autograph for me. He was a bit hard to understand because his thick accent but was a very nice dude overall. Also saw Dwight Howard at Disney World, he basically told me no pictures, no autographs, he's busy, ignored everyone around him and I guess its understandable, he was with a girl and a little boy, I'm assuming his son. Feel free to share you experiences.
  4. Ryan Braun is reportedly being shopped heavily by Milwaukee. I know he has the steroid past, but I think he would be a great to be our LF. He is still one of the best hitters in the league
  5. Tyler - We didn't even have a good offensive inning, we were gift wrapped 3 runs by the Twins throwing the all around in the outfield, a typical thing they do and why they are worst team in AL. Today was an all around pathetic game, and of course it would be in a rare game where our pitcher actually dominates. Porcello went 7 and allowed 1 earned run, we shouldn't lose a game like that ever. The amount of games we lose where we score 8 or more runs or when we have a good pitched game is getting frustrating.
  6. This team begged to lose today. 2 bad errors by Xander. Get a lead off double from Hanley and don't even advance him. We have Shaw, whose never bunted before bunt and of course f*** it up. Numerous lead off guys reach, only for a double play to erase them. Then of course, we let dumb ass barnes come in, walk the lead off guy, right then and there someone needs to be up. Kimbrel? we have an off day tomorrow. Hembree? Ross? There was other options, but no, we leave the game in an idiots hands who has control issues. You have to play awful to lose to an awful time and we did that today. Pathetic
  7. Matt Barnes is horrible. he has no control at all and allows way too many base runners, leadoff walks in extra innings are begging to lose. Then the butthole of the bullpen gives up a 3 run homer to straight away center to the ass juice of hitters.. GREAT JOB MATTIE BARNES
  8. Its Porcello's fault! He made Bogaerts make two errors and forced the offense to score only 1 run today
  9. Yeah, Porcello really sucks, he's getting grounded balls that his shortstop has f***ed up twice to allow 3 runs to score, that's totally on Porcello! Get real, Bogaerts is good a majority of the time, but this game is almost ALL on him right now, to say this is Porcello's fault is downright stupid.
  10. Bogaerts is having an awful day in the field. He is the reason we are down by 2.
  11. Big Dick Rick has actually been pitching well today, he's only allowed 1 run, just been given no support. I do find it shocking we only have 1 run against the Twins horrible pitching staff though, this is shocking.
  12. What the team could really use is an innings eater guy who doesn't suck. a 4.00 ERA guy who eats inning. Moon, from what you've listed, we could really use a tim wakefield or bronson Arroyo.
  13. I saw Sandoval just had a kid, was he the one that gave birth? If so, that could explain his weight gain and maybe he could get back to his old self next year
  14. Latos can't possibly be worse then the ass juice we've been trotting out there, it wouldn't hurt.
  15. Yordano definitely takes after his father Robin Ventura, both are feisty players but like his dad, Yordano Ventura has a lot of talent. I would definitely be for trading for this guy. He is young, cost controlled and has a lot of talent, his biggest issue is between the ears. At the absolute worst case scenario, he is an upgrade over our current 5th starter. Not having to watch Kelly and Buchholz alone would make this deal worth it.
  16. I f***ing hate "a pitchers ump" its code word for "i dont know the strike zone, but I'm labeled something that allows me to be s***** at my job"
  17. Why is there smiling cars that are weirdly shaped on the left field wall?
  18. Price looked done last inning, so we decide to bring him out for another inning? Questionable to say the least.
  19. I mean based on the definition of a sport, a competitive jerk circle could be considered a sport. If Poker is considered a sport, masturbation is definitely a sport. In terms of difficulty, boxing is by far the most difficult. In terms of injury prone, football takes the cake. Guys tear their ACLs and Achilles like its part of their job description.
  20. Farrell with no DH would be a fun time. He'd probably get confused by what a double switch is and accidentally sub in craig Kimbrel as his shortstop.
  21. This one could be a nice pitching matchup David Big Dick Price takes a 7-2 record and 4.88 ERA into San Fran to take on one of the best pitchers in baseball, Madison Bumgarner, who is 7-2 with a 1.92 ERA (and 3 homers at the plate). This would be a nice sweep as we head towards a weekend series against the s*** of the AL, the twins.
  22. Hello friends of talksox, I am not aware of the rules of game thread but noticed one hadn't been made yet and thought I would take the liberty of making one, if this is allowed. Big Dick Rick Porcello will take a 7-2 record and 4.00 ERA into San Fran vs Fat Albert Suarez and his 1-1 record and 3.18 ERA. This game will be brought to you by Senquez Golson mojo. http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/0d3826d3447c26af42b335400ececf5e408f1616/c=0-50-534-352&r=x329&c=580x326/local/-/media/2015/06/10/JacksonMS/JacksonMS/635695367403042381-635670475903345526-Golson-05082015-Article-2.jpg Some of you may remember Golson as being a star corner at Mississippi, most notable who had a game winning interception in an upset of Alabama a few years ago, others may know him as being a 2nd round draft pick in the NFL by the Pittsburgh Steelers, however Golson has a huge linking to the Red Sox and may be the reason why we have Mookie Betts. Golson was drafted by the Red Sox in the 8th round of the 2011 draft. The Red Sox were confident Golson would sign and offered him a bonus over 1 million, however Golson was intent on playing football with Ole Miss and declined the Red Sox offer, at the same time, Mookie Betts, another Red Sox draft pick that year seemed unlikey to sign with Boston, until Golson declined the offer. Golson declining resulted in the Sox upping their offer to Mookie and keeping him from his dream school of the University of Tennessee and bringing him to Boston. Who knows if Golson would be as good, better or worse then Betts, but I can say I honestly thank Golson for not letting Mookie get away. 23. Anyone else on this site like quizes? I usually play random quizes of all sorts, and this is one I thought I'd post to try and compare our scores http://www.sporcle.com/games/deej/boshr1995-2015 The quiz is can you name every player to hit a homer for the Red Sox between 1995-2005? ill post my results below, and keep in mind, that posts not on this post will probably give away some answers, so if you don't want to cheat, guess below.
  24. As someone who has torn his Achilles, that swihart injury sure reminded me a lot of my own injury. I obviously hope I'm wrong but that injury really made me feel uneasy
  25. Well to be fair, Matt Albers/Colon have similar body types, but yes, Fat Albers looked bad out there.
