We are on pace for 89 wins and missing the playoffs by 3 games (to DET's projected 92 wins.)

I doubt December's Rule 5 eligibility will come into play, if we choose to add a player or two to our 40 man roster from within our system, but here are some ML ready or near MLB-ready players on our farm, who are Rule 5 eligible, this December: Jordan & Kavadas (DFA Dalbec?) Yorke and Paulino Fitts & Gambrell

We had room for Cooper before Reyes was DFA'd. His spot on the 26 was opened for Coop, yes. -

Short-sighted. This was about 6 years and a very hopeful shot at solving the 2B issue we have had for far too long. Spread that $17M over 6 years and add Grissom's arb costs, and the money might look like a win. Is when he was drafted more important than his ranking in their system?

29 games seems like nothing, compared to many other injured Sox players. Have we forgotten how many games Sale missed?

Yes, they are paying some of Sale's contract to pitch for ATL, and in return we got a recently graduated top 3 prospect from the ATL system- a guy with 6 years of team control. The final judging of this trade has a long way to go.

Of course, but thinking you could not take out Martin due to the 3 man rule, when he had already faced 3 batters is not an opinion. It is factually incorrect.

This was really about Joely, and they got it wrong. It happens. They must have seen something in him. It's not like he was on a min wage deal. None of us know what that was, but it was a mistake by Bloom in '23 and Brez in '24. Someone in the system thought he was better than this.

It's okay to swing and miss on some of these type of deals, but I have confidence in Rafaela becoming good enough on O to earn his keep.

You always run the risk of him having a big year and not extending or getting much more. It certainly was a gamble.

I agree. I was just reporting on some comments made about Bernardino starting the year in AAA. (I was against that idea, back then.)

The other factor is how well Abreu and Refsnyder are doing. Right now, Duran is the struggling OF'er, but we aren't benching him, soon, and probably never. Once that player, who has yet to play a game for the big club, finished rehab, our IF will be okay. Once Casas returns- better than okay. I'm really proud of the job our catchers have done.
