  1. Keller's contract is pretty high. He's not as good as Ryan. They are about the same age. I'd like to see us get both. Abreu Campbell or Garcia and 2-3 from Clarke, Early, Sandlin, Mullins Add DHam, Grissom, Wink or Kelly, if wanted. Maybe sub in Valera or Phillips, if they insist. Romero or Arias are options, but we need to hold our everyday prospects. Would anyone give Mayer & Clarke or Early for Ryan?
  2. I think we'll get Ryan, this winter. We have the pieces to offer. It's up to Brez on how much he'll offer.
  3. Tibbs & Ehrhard for D May Brasier released & signed by LAD Kike for Justin Hagenman & Nick Robertson (later traded for T O'Neill) Betts & half-Price for Downs, Wong & Verdugo (later traded for Fitts, Weissert & Judice) AGon, Beckett, Crawford & Punto for Webster, de la Rosa, Sands & Loney (The "Quarter Billion Trade.") Manny & C Hansen for Jason Bay (3 team) Stephen Fife for Erik Bedard & Josh Fields (3 team) Henri Stanley for Dave Roberts Did I miss some?
  4. Plus Buehler & Hicks, but yes.
  5. I did no think it was possible to outdo Koji's 2013 season.
  6. Even 2019 saw the Sale & Nate extensions plus the Bogey one that kicked in starting 2020. We just remember letting K & K walk and then trading Betts rather than pay him a couple million more per year.
  7. WOO scored 10 runs on 6 hits (5 BBs)
  8. He just passed HOU by a half game and are a half game behind NYY, now. Pretty amazing being 1/2 behind the third best record in the AL and 3.5 from 2nd best (TOR.) We are 4 GB the best record in the AL (DET) On the flip side, we are 5.5 Games ahead on KCR & TEX for being on the outside of the playoffs. We are 6.5 Games ahead of the 7th worst team in the AL (CLE.) Next 3 series: BOS: 3 v CLE, 3 at ARI & ATH TOR: 3 at CIN (over .500) & 3 at NYY & 3 v HOU NYY: 3 at HOU, 3 v TOR & DET These 9 games could really shuffle the deck. Someone has to lose when these guys play each other, and if TOR and NYY romp, then HOU and DET will likely fall. HOU: 1 LAA, 3 NYY, 3 at TEX & TOR (not easy, either) SEA: 3 at TBR & ATL and 3 v STL (Not too hard) For the best record in the AL: DET: 3 v NYM & CWS and 3 at NYY I'm not too worried about KCR and TEX. KCR has a 13 game stretch, later of 4 at CLE and 3 at PHI, then 3 v SEA & 3 v TOR. TEX may be out of it in 12 games: 3 v HOU, 3 v MIL & 3 at NYM & HOU
  9. When a corner infielder is deep, or the 3Bman is shaded over near the SS spot, it's even better. But, how many modern hitters can bunt well?
  10. I felt signing him as the replacement to Jansen was a gamble. This extension is a no-brainer. I thought he might get $14-15M/1 with a $13M option and $2M buyout, making it a $16M/1 or $28M/2 deal. Brez is on a roll. While I wish he'd somehow gotten Ryan at the deadline (or Keller) all these extensions and the Devers unload more than make up for it. The Chapman, Bregman, Narvaez and Crochet winter additions far outweigh the Buehler mistake. (Wilson & Matz outweigh D May.) Even, last winter looks better with the comeback by Giolito plus adding Slaten, Weissert & Criswell now outweigh the Sale for Grissom trade, IMO.
  11. Wow! In terms of consecutive... He let up a hit on July 23rd. He's pitched 13 innings since then. on the season, the opps are 21 for 179- a .173 BA! 14 BB and 76 Ks in 64 IP. The OPS Against was .365 before today's 0 BB and 0 Hits in 3 PAs. This is legendary. It's better than Uehara & Papelbon's best seasons.
  12. My guess is, as a FA, he'd get an offer of $8M/2 or $10M/3- tops. We owe him $36M/2, so maybe we can dump him and pay $28M/2 of the $36M, and get nothing in return. Saving $3-4M AAV might help us add a RP'er or stay under one of the tax lines.
  13. Yes, I know, but what scares you about them? To me, they seem lucky to be as close as they are. Run differential: +105 BOS -2 KCR counting down 4-0, now.
  14. Chapman: last 12 IP 0 hits 3 BB 15 Ks Last 11.1 IP: 0 Hits, 1BB, 15Ks!
  15. If he starts raking with WOO, maybe give him a shot in 2026, but I'm hoping Casas wins the 2016 DH job. (Lowe/Romy at 1B or Alonso.)
  16. I've been saying this for over a month. While I do think he could hit .770 or better, how long of a leash does he get? Here are some of the longest leashes we've seen this season: 255 PAs Story at .598 (Glad he stuck with this one! Kinda had to.) 230 PAs Campbell at .577 185 PAs Toro at .509 (127 PAs Toro at .481) 168 PAs DHam at .573 (whole season, but .800 over last 45 PAs) 160 PAs Rafaela at .563 (recently) 159 PAs Wong at .484 (.642 last 64, .685 last 43, .729 last 29, .777 last 21) 136 PAs Mayer at .674 (kinda had to play him when Bregman out) 119 PAs Rafaela at .586 (early in '25) 116 PAs Yoshida at .584 112 PAs Casas at .580 (up to injury)
  17. He has options, so Brez could park him in AAA and take Cora's choice away.
  18. Yes. Right now, it's SEA vs KC w SEA up 2. Sox are up 4.5 on KCR and 5 on TEX. (5.5 on CLE)
  19. Murphy, Sandlin, Burdi & Hoppe have gone 8 IP allowing 1 ER, 3 Hits but 5BB w 6 Ks. McDonough homered twice. Toro homered again, and Ferguson also had a dinger. Campbell is 1-3 w 2 BBs and 3 runs scored. POR is losing, late. Brannon homered. GRE & SAL play tonight.
  20. Me, too. Plus Clarke or Early. I think MIN would prefer Abreu, which I would do, too.
