  1. I didn't assume you give a rats ass what I think, although you seemed to care when I pointed out that you were right about us being flops year after year. I may be wrong, but you say everyone sucks who plays poorly for a couple weeks to a month, so I'm not out on a limb to think you'd be blasting Brez, if Ryan was struggling as a Sox addition. If I was wrong, I'd admit it, too. I seriously doubt I would have been. Anyway, you missed the point of the whole Ryan comment, anyway. It may be widely accepted by some, that Brez failed at the deadline, but not on the fire Brez point. No GM does everything right. While I wanted Brez to get Ryan, his failure to do so doesn't come close to a firing him. You act like we're 10 games behind the WC and have been acting like it all season long.
  2. SP: Crochet, _____, Bello, Giolito, Tolle RP: Chapman, Slaten, Whitlock, C: Narvaez, Wong DH: Duran, Casas/ Romy 1B: Lowe, Casas/Romy 2B: Mayer, DHam/Romy SS: Story, Mayer 3B: Bregman, Mayer LF: Anthony, Duran CF: Rafaela, Duran RF: Abreu, Garcia Adding Alonso and trading for Ryan would be a WS contending team.
  3. The 2026 Foundation looks a lot better after the Chapman extension! Next up: Bregman.
  4. I pretty much hate all Sacrifices, especially human ones.
  5. I'd have pulled him after 5, but that is not meant to be a knock on Cora. What's not to love about this guy, except too bad we couldn't start him today, too.
  6. I love the 2027 option, too....whatever it is.
  7. Gotta like what this management team has been doing. What a breath of fresh air seeing us keep our winners, sign our young stars and yes, dump the deadwoods and malcontents.
  8. FIRE BREZ is the mantra. Climb aboard the Fred Express.
  9. You don't get it. notin would have loved for us to get Ryan. I was driving the Ryan bandwagon. The point, was, had he gotten him, and he had a 5.00 ERA since the trade, you'd be calling him and idiot and saying we should fire him. Sorry, but your last shred of cred is dead, Fred. Maybe you should "fire" yourself.
  10. It just takes two days. Two freaking days! Back to fire everybody!
  11. "Sign him?" That would be stupid as hell. They get in trouble for signing a player under contract for 2 more years!
  12. Every GM who ever lived should be fired. (Actually, so far all of term have!)
  13. Yes. I know, Ryan has sucked as long as Rafaela has, was my point
  14. He said 5+ since the deadline- you know- the same sample size you use for Rafaela.
  15. I'm not sure if he'll be injured going forward, but it has to be a concern. It's not just the wrist injury that has forced missed time.
  16. 2B has been a terrible position for the Sox since Pedey, and even during his last years, we kept waiting for his return from the IL. Now, our best hope is a guy who is on the IL half the time- Mayer. Geeesh!
  17. A stab in the dark. He's not yet the worst we tried: 8.04 Houck 9 GS (1.695 WHIP) 5.40 Buehler 22 (1.564) 5.01 May 5 (1.550 before today- other numbers count today) 4.83 Fitts 10 (1.317) 4.43 Newcomb 5 (1.925 WHIP) That's 51 GS, and some say our bats are our weakest area.
  18. We do have a few names on our roster that are such glaring holes that it's easy to wonder why they are here, and even more so, why are they playing so much,
  19. They dumped a huge Devers contract and took back a tiny fraction of his cost in Hicks. I'm fine with that being all on Brez. Thanks Brez! They coulda cut Hicks, day one, and it was still worth it.
  20. No doubt the pitching was the major part of this stretch, but come on. There were plenty of key hits, including Rafaela's homer. How about Romy's 8th inning RBI to win the BAL game 3-2? I guess the 5 runs scored in the 5-0 win don't count, because it was a shutout, despite there never being a 0-0 win in MLB history. The 12-1 win, the same. s***** offense due to no key hits. Let's not count Duran's 3 run homer in a 3-1 games. We shoulda scored 8 in the game our staff let up 7 vs the Yanks. The 1-0 win vs the Yanks certainly had very few big hits, but Wong's still counts. Down 3-2 to the Yanks in game one and a 6-3 win involved zero key hits. These were team wins during a time when the pitching was doing very well. Most of the best stretches involve good pitching. I've always believed that, but our bats have been good enough.
  21. Too bad that's not a clutch hit by Romy, because there were not 2 outs. (LOL)
  22. Recently, yes, but every area has had ebbs and flows. The defense and baserunning has had stretches of bone head plays. The pen had a mid season meltdown. The back end starters have been awful, pretty much all year, except for a few starts by Dobbins, Fitts and now one by Tolle. The bats have been a rollercoatser.
